Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for the Sunday roast, with one describing a triple meat plate of beef, turkey and pork, a large Yorkshire pudding, crisp roast potatoes and rich gravy. Close behind are the lamb duo of pie and lamb rump, and the bacon steak. Desserts get mentions too, including the sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and an apple and cherry crumble with custard. A vegan couple also praised the crumble and the options available to them. Staff draw praise in nearly every review, described as friendly and helpful, including a bar team that went out of their way during a packed lunch service and a manager who was kind and obliging to a four generation family group. Views of the beach and sunsets from the outside tables come up repeatedly, and one guest said the dogs loved the beach. The one recurring complaint is parking. Reviewers say spaces at the pub are scarce and the public car park sits at the top of a steep hill, and one suggests a drop off for elderly visitors. One evening visitor found it incredibly busy yet did not wait long for food.

“Visited this hidden gem for Sunday lunch for the first time as we are currently travelling down the West Wales coast and it did not disappoint us at all. Not only did we get a glorious sunny day with breathtaking views but so much more. We got a hot, scrumptious Sunday roast and a cold beer and gin and tonic. Both food and drink were 10/10. Alongside that, Shania and Sean went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed, despite being super busy with a restaurant full of other diners. Super helpful, friendly staff. We will be back next year on our next visit.”

“Our 3rd time visiting here now,And the first time we've sat inside due to the weather not being particularly favourable with wanting something to eat. We really did enjoy the experience too ,we'd worked up a nice appetite having had a coastal walk to The Ship so went for something to fill us,The bacon steak piqued my interest and its fair to say it was delicious! - certainly recommended! The layout of the premises is cosy and with the overview of the sea its most certainly a relaxing environment. The staff are excellent, very friendly, chatty but not over the top with it,They certainly seem to enjoy what they do,which is nice to see. This is definitely a go to place if in the area. What I would say is there arent too many parking spaces for the restaurant and the public parking is slightly back from the restaurant and its quite a steep hill down to it from the car park.If your elderly and maybe not used to steep hills its worth bearing that in mind and maybe do a drop off,Then come and collect later on after parking up back at the public car park? Dont let that put you off though..its an excellent place to visit.”

“It was eclipse day, and we wanted to be in Tresaith to watch. We know the Ship well; it’s had its ups and downs through the years but it’s been excellent recently and yesterday in particular the manager was kind, cheerful and obliging towards our 4 generations of family so the whole event went brilliantly.”

“Lovely place with helpful and friendly staff. The food was great and plentiful. We're staying in Tresaith so we could walk there, but be aware, parking is difficult at the pub, but there is a car park at the top of the hill”

“As committed vegans we always dread traveling to far flung places but you fed us well and the options were good. The crumble was delicious and the setting perfect. Thank you to all the staff who made sure we were well looked after”
