About West Pizza
West Pizza is a pizza restaurant in Cardiff, set inside Kongs at 60 Glynne St. It makes New York style pizza with large, thin slices, sold by the slice or as a whole 18-inch pie, which one person can take on alone or a few friends can share. The restaurant has been featured on BBC's Pizza Boys, shown on S4C as Bois y Pizza. Seasonal special pizzas are offered alongside the regular range, and dips are sold separately. Pizza condiments wait on the tables, and cookies and basque cheesecake are displayed at the front for dessert. Kongs also stocks a beer selection. West Pizza is open Tuesday to Sunday and closed Mondays. Some of the staff speak Welsh, and table numbers appear as lights marked with the Welsh alphabet.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return for the New York style pizza, sold as a massive slice or a whole 18 inch pie that friends often share. They call it delicious, crispy and tasty, with paper thin slices and well distributed toppings, and one says the seasonal specials are always worth getting. Dips come up repeatedly, including a three for two deal, and the cookies and basque cheesecake at the front tempt several into adding dessert. Diners describe a casual, relaxed, chilled room with friendly staff, some of whom speak Welsh, and lights using the Welsh alphabet as table numbers. A dairy-free diner appreciated the vegan cheese option but ordered the Cochyn expecting a vegan margarita, and found it was only base and tomato sauce, which the menu labels no cheese. Another reviewer calls parking a struggle and suggests parking nearby and walking. The sharpest complaint is a brownie that turned out to be a dry corner piece from a stack, noticed only at home.

“Great pizza as always. Ordered a brownie & they gave me a dry-ass corner piece. There was a stack there & I only realised when I got home. What the hell guys? These things matter :(”

“Went for the slices of Delme, Mighty Q and Meri Ann. All were class. I have wanted to see a decent pizza slice place in Cardiff and this is it. Big fan of the Neapolitan style so to see the owners produce a New York style parlour is great. The atmosphere is casual and you can order by the slice or as whole 18” pizzas which is a real big draw and adds to the overall experience.”

“Just excellent every time. Can’t beat the large NY style pizzas, relaxed service and dine in vibes. Have eaten and had takeaway from here many times and never been disappointed. Today stopped off for a quick lunch with a friend and we shared a sizeable pizza between two. Three for two on dips is a great shout too. Will be back, again, and again…!”

“Absolutely perfect pizza - served both by the slice and whole. A great lunch after a walk around Pontcanna Fields. Still yet to have a bad slice and it's always worth getting a seasonal special when available. Flavour is top notch and never any issues with the distribution of toppings! Special mention also to the cookies and basque cheesecake often offered at the front, leaving you compelled to add them to your order.”
