  “We had a wonderful experience here! The place was clean, welcoming, and had a great atmosphere. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. I ordered the Adana kofte, which was perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and served with great sides. To top it all off, we finished the evening with complimentary limoncello shots, which was a lovely touch! We will definitely be back!”

  “visited 3/7/26 ordered from the lunch set meal, great value and lots of choice. staff were friendly, food served hot and quickly. complimentary bread provided, which was delish 🤤 tad disappointed by the moussaka (veg undercooked for my liking) wouldnt order again but would definitely go back and recommend.”

  “Konak is described as a Mediterranean fine dining restaurant. I would agree with the Mediterranean label, but “fine dining” feels a little ambitious. The food and atmosphere are closer to good-quality comfort food than a true fine dining experience. The restaurant sits on the edge of Roath Pleasure Gardens and Roath Park, close to a busy roundabout. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, and on a sunny day the terrace is a pleasant place to sit. However, the setting is affected somewhat by the constant stream of traffic on the road outside and the nearby railway line, which can be heard overhead behind the row of houses. I visited for lunch and found the two-course lunch menu to be very good value. Unfortunately, the table had not been cleaned properly before we were seated. There were bits of salad and other debris on the surface, along with visible sticky patches. About 15 minutes later, a waiter bringing tap water noticed the issue and began spraying cleaning solution on the table while we were still seated. We had to get up to avoid the cleaning spray. It would have been more considerate to ask diners to stand briefly before cleaning. Inside, the restaurant is attractive, with a welcoming bar area leading into the main dining room. To start, I chose the Beetroot Tarator – oven-roasted beetroot with yoghurt, garlic and olive oil. The description sounded appealing, but the dish itself was disappointing. What arrived was largely a pink beetroot paste accompanied by strips of grilled beetroot, crispy filo strands, plenty of bread, and a chilli-yoghurt dip. The flavours felt unbalanced, with too much garlic dominating the dish. For the main course, I had the Mixed Shish: charcoal-grilled lamb fillet and chicken breast served with salad, rice and grilled vegetables. This was a much stronger dish. The salad was surprisingly sweet, the rice was flavoured with yellow bulgur, and the plate included grilled tomato and red pepper. The chicken was slightly dry, but the lamb was tender and enjoyable. Overall, it was a pleasant and varied main course. Service was rather slow on the outdoor terrace and staff were less attentive than expected. Overall, Konak offers good value, particularly at lunchtime, and serves enjoyable Mediterranean-style comfort food. However, inconsistent service, table cleanliness issues and a disappointing starter meant the experience fell short of its fine dining aspirations.”

  “Really good experience, brilliant authentic food with good serving sizes and very tasty. Really friendly staff who went the extra mile and shared our sense of humour. We ate outside in the sun (I know, but it's true, 20+ degrees today). Felt like we were on holiday in the Mediterranean. Great place to stop for a midday lunch especially if you go as a group of friends, not just a location for an evening out. We will be going back :)”

  “The restaurant was clean. We had lunch there on Sunday. It was a little busy but still quiet and peaceful; later, more families started arriving. The portions were big enough to feel full, everything was fresh, and the starters were lovely. Atmospheric and authentic. It’s only missing a slight modern touch, but that’s just my personal opinion.”

  “I couldn't recomend this amazing mediterranean corner of paradise enough. The food was breathtaking and led my pallet on a most extravagant tour of taste. The service was superb and i felt at home. So polite and welcoming. If you find yourself wanting more than "just something to eat" then please, give this restaurant a visit for a memorable experience.”
