  “A large group of 19 family visited Toby for lunch last Saturday. It was for a special occasion as my sister was having a gender reveal. We were seated in the old part of the building which was lovely as we could all sit together. Bron was absolutely amazing throughout our visited, it was a very hot day and provided fans and cooling mist and was so friendly, welcoming and really went above and beyond for us. The majority had a carvery and it was absolutely delicious, the meat was full of flavour and they constantly topped up the veg. Those who could fit in desserts also said how tasty these were 😋 This toby has a lovely outdoor area with lots of places to sit and it was perfect for a gender reveal as very close to 'first encounters'. Would definitely recommend visiting for delicious food & fantastic service, really couldn't fault it 👏✨️”

  “Love the breakfast here. Always greeted with a warm welcome from Della and you can tell the team really get on and enjoy their jobs. Big shout out to the chef Joe as well, the food is delicious. Definitely recommend breakfast here. Great chill vibe to start your day. :).”

  “We dined at Toby Carvery Cardiff Gate tonight, and the entire experience was flawless. The atmosphere was cozy with perfect lighting and a welcoming vibe. A special mention goes to the manageress Debbie ,who was incredibly attentive and knowledgeable without being intrusive. We will definitely be returning! Highly recommend checking this spot out!”

  “I have given this place a few chances and all haven’t been good but with a new refurbished restaurant I thought maybe it could have improved, I did not see anything new just moved a few things around. Firstly no beef ok just have turkey as only other option was lamb 😏, coliflower cheese hard and tasteless veg bland and dry potatoes not bad gravy cold and so was the rest of it. I was tempted to ask to put it in the microwave 🙈 really didn’t want to pay for this I told the waitress and she just replied sorry I’ll get you the bill if it was me I would of at least offered a desert to make up for it I walked out so disappointed and I will never return. Save your money honestly 🙌”

  “I brought my daughter there with her friend and her friend’s Mum for my daughter’s Birthday. Our server was Alicia who was absolutely faultless. She accommodated our every need and was really kind and attentive. It was a lovely experience and the girls really enjoyed it. The food was very tasty also and really good value.”

  “We had a wonderful visit to the Cardiff Gate Toby this evening, made extra special thanks to our waitress, Bron. Nothing was too much trouble for her. She looked after all our needs and went above and beyond to make our twin grandkids feel truly special on their 11th birthday. One of our grandsons was too shy to go back up for more veg, and Bron noticed straight away and helped him get a refill without making him feel uncomfortable. That small act of kindness meant the world to us. She was extremely friendly, polite, and the perfect host from start to finish. Bron is an absolute asset to the company, and we’re so grateful for the care she showed our family. Thank you, Bron, for making the night so memorable.”

  “The atmosphere was peaceful, with plentiful spacing, fresh food, and clean tables. Our waiter Della was very attentive and made sure we were all satisfied with our food and made sure of any allergies. I will definitely be coming back more often!”

  “Went in for a lovely meal with friends. Soon as we walked through the door we was greed by faces. The music playing softly was energetic, but quiet to keep all the happy moods high. Staff rushing off their feet to meet people's standard to make the best experience to their ability. Alicia and Katie were amazing with constantly checking up on us just incase we needed our wanted anything. We will definitely be coming again xx”

  “Had a really nice experience at Toby Carvery today. The food was fresh and plentiful as always, but I especially wanted to mention Bron, who served us. She was so attentive, patient and genuinely kind while helping me and my children with our food. Nothing felt like too much trouble and she made us feel really welcome.
