The drinks list is mainly cocktails and shots, and a bottomless brunch is also offered. Pool tables are available, with a deposit taken for the cues, and that deposit is cash only. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers come for the bar-top dancing and the party atmosphere the film made famous, and the pattern splits sharply on whether it delivers. Positive reviewers describe a lively night of singing and dancing on the bar, a dress rehearsal watched early in the afternoon, and entertainers who were very good at their jobs. One group that pre-booked skipped the queue and was served promptly, and a bottomless brunch drew praise for supportive bar and security staff. Others found the entertainment poor, with weak singing and dancing that felt like a regular bar with loud music. The most repeated complaint is slow service: one party of 10 waited over 30 minutes for a drinks order that then arrived wrong, and another noted too few staff for cocktails that take longest to make. Reviewers also mention a limited drink selection focused on cocktails and shots, and a pool cue deposit dispute with managers. One reviewer was turned away from climbing onto the bar for a free shot, and another called the toilets disgusting.

“Cannot comment on food as did not eat here. Waited over 30 minutes to get a drinks order and even then it was wrong. Staff dancing was ok but singing was just awful and ruined the music vibe. Majority of the girls just looked worn & greasy with dirty t-shirts and all they cared about was strutting around to the detriment of the customer when they could have been serving at a very busy bar. Clientele was not the greatest either, it is not nice being aggressively hit-on by men and not a bouncer nor member of staff in sight to speak to or sort it out as it was quite alarming. Will definitely not visit again. Such a shame as our party of 10 was expecting higher standards.”

“Staff are brilliant. Managers are absolutely awful. £5 deposit for the pool table. Cash only. Rather than faff with their system I offered to pay rather than hold a deposit. Manager flat out refused two of us. Third person turned to another person in the queue and paid for their drink for £5 in cash. The manager confessed "I'm sorry we have been difficult". Do you want to do business?! Absolutely pathetic. Avoid this place. Obscenely loud music with zero atmosphere. Tonnes of better places.”

“Deeply Sexist Establishment We visited coyote ugly saloon on a Friday night excited to have a good boogie. After paying £5 to enter we walked into the main room and were greeted by a large sign saying “dance on the bar for a free shot of corkeys”. Eager in anticipation of a free shot and a waltz on the bar, we approached the bar and started to climb the stairs. Out of nowhere a bouncer leaped towards us and aggressively threw his hand accross my chest saying no men allowed on the bar. I was heartbroken and disgusted. My autistic friend was devastated. This kind of sexism and discrimination is not ok in this day and age. Prime minister Andy Burnham has been informed.”

“I came to Coyote Ugly Cardiff expecting the fun, high-energy atmosphere the brand is famous for. Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The entertainment was practically non-existent. The staff seemed uninterested, and when they did attempt to sing or dance, the performances were very poor. There was none of the excitement, charisma, or crowd interaction that you would expect from a venue built around entertainment. Considering that the whole concept of Coyote Ugly is based on lively performances and an unforgettable atmosphere, this felt more like a regular bar with loud music than the experience being advertised. Overall, it was all style and no substance. If you're looking for great entertainment, talented performers, and the famous Coyote Ugly atmosphere, you'll probably leave disappointed, just as I did. I wouldn't return or recommend it.”

“Good atmosphere, but drink selection Limited. Mainly cocktail and shots focused. Service was great, when you got it. Too little staff when cocktails take the longest to make. But when you could get served it was fine.”
