About Waite & Rose Café
Waite & Rose Café is a cafe in Canterbury, set inside a small city-centre John Lewis store on St George's Place. It is open daily and serves coffee, breakfast and toasted sandwiches. Because the cafe sits within the store, a visit can include picking up a John Lewis order at the in-store collection point. Drivers can use the basement parking. The shop floor around the cafe stocks household items, toys and young children's clothes, and flowers are sold in store.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the friendly, helpful staff at this café inside the Waitrose, with one regular describing a coffee visit at least five times a week. Coffee is the core draw, and one reviewer calls it good and strong, while others point to the breakfast, kids menu, toasted sandwiches and a mix of hot and cold drinks. One diner describes a lovely atmosphere and a quick wait at lunch, though another calls the price range mid to high for a bite to eat. Food quality draws the sharpest complaints. One reviewer calls the scrambled eggs vile and describes them as a pockmarked plastic imitation, and another finds the sourdough dry, like factory cardboard, even while praising the welcoming staff. A third reviewer rates the coffee fair but says the cleanliness fell short. Even the critical reviews tend to credit the staff, and one says they deserve five stars.

“Poor food quality. Sourdough bread was that horrible dry ‘cardboard’ factory bread. However, staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful”

“Food was vile, absolutely vile, if there were a zero star rating it would get nothing!. This pockmarked plastic obscenity supposedly passed as scrambled eggs!”

“A small coffee shop inside of the Waitrose that is near to the city centre of Canterbury. Good, strong coffee for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the cleaness (or lack of cleaness) wasn't that reasonable.”
