Customer Review Summary
The recurring complaint is waiting. The group of twelve found breakfast slow but felt it was worth it, while another party waited over an hour for poached eggs and a toastie, with an Americano and hot chocolate taking about half that time alone. Two reviewers also describe hostility from the owner: a family was reprimanded when a three-year-old pushed a toy car around their table, and a van driver who briefly parked in the wrong spot was shouted at. Dog owners report treats given to their pets.

“I can't praise this establishment highly enough. Their afternoon teas are a joy to behold and at a very competitive price. Too much in one go so a doggy container is ready and waiting for the homeward journey. The staff are really pleasant especially Renee and Chloe who go out of their way to please. A huge selection of speciality teas (52 I think at the last count) and the breakfasts, lunches are up with the best at sensible prices. A place for speciality coffees as well. Also, dog friendly so ideal for our canine companions. Plenty of parking and very good disabled access. Keep up the good work.”

“Rude, hostile owner. Children were quiet and seated; 3yo engaged by others yet we were publicly reprimanded. Infusions Tea Room This was one of the most uncomfortable and unwelcoming café experiences I’ve ever had. Before we’d even settled, we were told that the children must remain seated. Fine — rules are rules. Two of my children remained seated throughout, quietly occupied on tablets. The third, aged three, was also at the table and was being gently engaged by two adult customers on the neighbouring table, who were smiling, chatting to him, and clearly enjoying the interaction. He was quietly pushing a small toy car in circles around our table. No shouting. No running. No disruption. Despite this, the owner stormed out of the kitchen to reprimand us, stating that the children must not disturb other customers. The irony? The only people engaging with him were the other customers — who were perfectly happy and had given absolutely no indication of being disturbed. It was intrusive, disproportionate, and frankly embarrassing. There was no attempt at kindness, discretion, or basic courtesy — just open hostility and an apparent determination to make us feel unwelcome. If children are not tolerated under any circumstances, that should be made abundantly clear at the door. Policing a quiet three-year-old who is being positively engaged by other adults is not “maintaining atmosphere” — it’s poor judgement and worse hospitality. A tea room should be warm, calm, and civil. This was cold, confrontational, and entirely unnecessary. We complied with the rules, behaved respectfully, and were still treated as though we were a problem to be dealt with. We won’t be returning. Calne has plenty of cafés that understand the difference between disruption and simple, human interaction — I’d recommend choosing one of those instead.”

“Estacionei minha van por engano no estacionamento para fazer uma entrega no restaurante mas vi que era o número errado. Um senhor me recebeu de uma forma muito grosseira. Gritando para remover meu carro. O estacionamento estava vazio. Até compraria um café, mas depois de ser expulso do estacionamento de forma muito grosseira decidi não voltar.”

“Lovely place for lunch, I had jacket potato with prawn and smashed avocado with a liquorice latte and both arrived in good time and tasted delicious. Didn’t have time (or space) for any of the amazing looking cakes so will be back soon!”
