  “First time at Dempsey's for my wife and myself. The place is very nicely decorated with a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Good portion, well cooked with a lovely home made flavour. Will definitely go again when we're in the area. Would recommend booking at busy times.”

  “​We have been regulars at Dempseys for a long time, the food is usually amazing, and the staff are normally wonderfully polite and customer-focused. However, yesterday’s visit was exceptionally disappointing, and we won't be rushing back anytime soon. ​A few of us ordered the roast beef and ham dinner. When the food arrived, the beef was far too bloody and undercooked. My wife, who usually loves medium-rare steak, had to leave hers entirely, it was warm around the edges, but cold and practically raw in the middle. Her auntie went as far as saying it was the worst meal she’d had. I had to send mine back to the kitchen to be cooked further. ​It wasn't just our table, either. A couple sitting near us had the exact same issue: the husband couldn't eat his, sent it back, and declined a replacement, while his wife complained her meal was completely cold. ​When the bill arrived and we were asked if everything was okay, I pointed out that my meat had to be re-cooked and that almost everyone who ordered beef had left it on their plates. Instead of a simple apology, we were dismissively told, "We always serve our beef red." Surely with roast beef, staff should ask guests how they prefer it cooked rather than assuming everyone wants it rare? Given that we are regulars, the lack of ownership or basic apology was really poor customer service. ​To make matters worse, I ended up with a severe upset stomach overnight, and that roast was the only thing I had eaten all day. ​It’s a real shame because we’ve had so many great meals here in the past, but the combination of cold, undercooked food and a dismissive attitude means our whole party will be giving Dempseys a pass for a long time.”

  “Absolutely fabulous. You get a lovely warm welcome. Staff are polite and really friendly. We had afternoon tea, 4 adult and 1 children's (my mum has alzheimers and small appetite), my niece even rang ahead and asked for jam sandwiches which was not a problem, the owner even came with soup for my mum as an extra. He was just so nice. Everything on the afternoon tea was delicious. Will we recommend? Absolutely Will we back? Definitely. Thank you to the lovely staff at Dempsey's xxx”

  “we got 4 afternoon teas and a childrens afternoon tea for my grandma with alzhmers we asked if wr coukd change the sandwhiches to jam and they did this with no problem when they saw the kids afternoon tea were for an elderly person they asked if we wanted soup with the kids one they also swapped all the drinks for cokd drinks with no bother very accodating thankyou”
