Customer Review Summary
Desserts come up most often, with the homemade desserts called sensational, a tiramisu with a generous dusting of cocoa and an incredibly creamy texture, and a shared lemon cheesecake called tasty. Close behind are the mains: a steak cooked to perfection and juicy, and a lamb rump special with leeks, spring onions and sautéed potatoes that one diner found very tender. Drinks mentioned include red wine and a refreshing aperol spritz. Reviewers describe friendly, welcoming staff, generous portions and a clean, warm room. Several say meals arrived quickly even when the restaurant was busy, and one party was seated straight away without a booking. The complaints are fewer but specific. One reviewer found the dishes poorly seasoned and lacking flavour, and called them expensive for what they got. Another felt the food was very good but missing something, and one table waited a while for their order to be taken on a busy night. One holiday visitor returned five nights in a row.

“Visited La vela today for a treat in this weather, and can i just say what a delightful experience. The staff were amazing took care of our every need and were very attentive to our likes and dislikes, Although it was extremely busy, the restaurant was very clean and the service never seemed to fail. Me and my sister ordered two dishes and they were brought out to us very quickly despite the rush. The food was delicious and hot and paired with my favourite wine was just absolute perfection. i loved my experience here and i would recommend to everyone who loves authentic italian tasting dishes. 100% coming back”
