  “We came here after a day at the beach and it was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The oysters and prawns were especially good and everything tasted beautifully prepared. The service was impeccable. Everyone was genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful. The staff came over several times to check that everything was to our liking, and they even offered to move us to a better table overlooking the beach and the sea, which was such a lovely touch. The views were amazing as well. Sitting there with fresh seafood, a glass of wine and the sea right outside made the whole experience feel very special.”

  “Excellent restaurant, delicious food, attentive service. Group of 6 of us came in around £40 per person with a few of us having starters. The waiter definitely knew what he was talking about when asked questions, as was the waitress and (we think) the landlady or manager that evening? Service only got 4/5 as we were told our mains would be about 5 minutes and they then took about half an hour or so to arrive. Shall definitely be returning though!”

  “Very enjoyable pub in a prime location. We couldn't get a walk in so booking ahead for food in the evening is essential. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Really enjoyed our visit, and the oysters were lovely.”

This juxtaposition alone sets the stage for a memorable experience — but it was the food and service that made the evening truly outstanding. I began with the raw oysters, which were nothing less than sublime. Impeccably fresh, gorgeously briny, and presented with care, they captured the very essence of coastal dining. Each oyster was a perfect balance of delicacy and depth, setting a remarkably high tone for the rest of the meal. The trio of bread that followed was an unexpected highlight. Paired with what I can confidently say was the finest olive oil I’ve tasted anywhere, this simple offering became unforgettable. My glass of Pinot Grigio paired beautifully, enhancing the subtleties of the dish without overwhelming them. Combined with the cozy, intimate ambiance and the charm of its seafront setting, The Tartar Frigate delivers a dining experience that far exceeds its modest exterior.   “We visited this lovely seaside restaurant located on the first floor, with stunning beach views right outside the window. I highly recommend going around sunset for the most perfect scenery. Even during the heatwave in the UK summer, the air conditioning was excellent, making it very comfortable to dine indoors. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the hot seafood platter, lobster pasta, and pork belly – all of them were amazing. Highly recommended!”
