Quick info
About The Farrington Inn
The Farrington Inn is a traditional country pub and restaurant on Bristol Rd in Bristol, set on the A37 and open daily. The kitchen serves British pub food, with fish and chips and steak and kidney pudding on the menu. Sunday lunch comes as a small plate or a large plate, with roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding and root veg. The bar pours local ales, including Cheddar Ales, alongside lagers and cider, and log fires burn inside. At the back, the garden has a kids play area and an entrance down to Ham Lane and its country walks, so a walk can start or end at the pub, and dogs are welcome. Food and drink are 10% off after 6pm.

Customer Review Summary
Sunday lunch is the most named draw, with diners describing roast lamb and a veggie option with root veg, roasties and Yorkshire pudding, and one repeat visitor liking the small plate and large plate format as portioned just right. Close behind are generous, good value plates: a huge ploughman's two people could not finish, burgers, fish and chips, a chicken melt, steak and kidney pudding with mash and peas, and a grilled breakfast. Reviewers also single out friendly staff, the garden, and pints including a local Cheddar Ales best and a well poured Amstel, though one would like a better lager selection. One notes a slow wait for food in a quiet pub. The sharpest complaint comes from a party of nine where the mixed grill was lukewarm and dry, the gammon very salty, the burgers dry and the fries hard, with only one meal judged acceptable. Their email went unanswered at first, and a voucher offered later had still not arrived weeks on.

“We had the small Sunday lunch out in the garden-1 veggie and 1 lamb, not expensive at all (2 older women so we didn't fancy huge portions) Food came very quickly and was delicious, lots of lovely root veg plus the usual roasties & Yorkshire pud..didn't have to pay extra for cauliflower cheese either I had a tasty pint of local best from Cheddar Ales, friend had a generic lager..a better lager selection is the only improvement I could suggest Recommended”

“This was my third visit for Sunday roast and I thought it was time I wrote a review. I’m very impressed with the service, the food is lovely and I love the small plate/large plate idea which is portioned just right. It’s excellent value for money too and for all these reasons we will definitely be back.”

“Service great, pub is clean and spacious and the food was amazing! Only downside was the wait for our food despite the restaurant being very quiet at the time, but worth the wait! Plus 10% off food and drink after 6pm was an added bonus!”

“Always good value for money and tasty food with friendly staff. I had steak and kidney pudding this time , very tasty with mash and peas, hard to find fault with it so 5star all round. This was lunchtime special. Lovely garden with a back entrance down to Ham Lane and onwards to amazing scenic country walks. Always friendly, lots of free parking ,very dog friendly.”

“Nice local pub. Lots of nice staff. We were about to order drinks at the bar, and some really nice food, without any issues at all. The food came out with half hour which is a perfect time to wait. There were a couple of parties going one, but it was nice and calm, but with a friendly atmosphere. The food was really nice and good value. Burgers were huge, the fish and chips were perfect. Chicken tikka was tasty and the chicken melt was cooked to perfection. Always nice to have a good pub to visit. Thank you.”
