About Sushi Garden
Sushi Garden is a family-owned Japanese restaurant at 32A Preston St in Brighton, serving the city since 2005. The menu covers salmon sashimi and sushi, including a sushi platter that gathers the restaurant's different best sellers on one plate. Hot dishes sit alongside the raw fish, among them an eel bento with nigiri on the side, katsu curry and tempura vegetables. A vegetable curry gives the menu a meat-free main. Lunch is served as Japanese sets. The drinks list includes cocktails.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the fresh fish, with the salmon sashimi named repeatedly as thick-cut and tender, alongside sushi platters where one reviewer says the London London roll melted in the mouth. Close behind are the hot dishes: an eel bento, crunchy tempura vegetables, a katsu curry described as hearty and flavourful, and a vegetable curry one diner calls the best they have had in the UK. Others mention the ika mayo with its sweet sauce and crunchy squid, and the lunch sets, which several describe as great value. Staff come up in nearly every review as friendly, attentive and welcoming, with service described as speedy without feeling rushed. The one reservation comes from a vegetarian diner who found the tofu agedashi and aubergine well cooked but the plain noodles too plain, and wished for more vegetarian choices. Reviewers also mention a comfy, cozy atmosphere and a decorated space, and one diner who walked in by chance after another place was packed ended the evening on that vegetable curry.

“Total accidental visit as another place was packed and busy. One of the best decisions to eat here earlier this evening. The best vegetable curry I've had in the UK so far. The service was good and the staff were friendly and awesome. I would totally recommend visiting.”

“Good vegetarians choice, but we can always do with more. Tofu Agidashi was well presented. Tasted nice too. Aubergine was well cooked and flavoursome. Plain noodles are too plain.”

“Highly recommended! I had a wonderful lunch here. The staff is incredibly attentive, helpful, and welcoming, making you feel right at home. The food is high quality, authentic, and offered at a great price. I absolutely loved my Japanese lunch set—the fish was perfectly cooked. I will definitely be coming back soon.”

“It was a wonderful vibe, with authentic Japanese food and wonderful service. The waiters and waitresses were very friendly. The salmon sashimi is a must try, it was thick-cut and wonderfully tender. The side dishes were also immaculate. The special sauce in the ika mayo was sweet and the squid was crunchy but soft on the inside. Very decent in the busy area of Brighton.”
