About Cafe Rust Kemptown
Cafe Rust Kemptown is a cafe in Brighton at 115 St George's Rd, set across two floors with large windows. Breakfasts and lunches are made in house, and the brunch menu includes Eggs Royal, Welsh Rarebit and the Cafe Rust plate, the cafe's version of the English breakfast. A full English comes in regular or veggie versions, and an all day breakfast is also listed. Coffee comes from the local Kemptown Red roaster, and the team brings orders to the table. On select evenings the cafe becomes a wine bar from 5:30pm and runs late, giving late-night drinkers its full wine selection to choose from. The whole site can also be booked for private hire, which suits groups.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often come for breakfast, and the full English leads the praise, called excellent in regular or veggie versions. The cafe rust plate is described as filling but not too oily or heavy. Close behind are the eggs royal, called gorgeously gooey, and the Mexican eggs at brunch. Others single out the Welsh rarebit with well melted cheese and a side salad, and the tofu scramble. Coffee draws repeated mentions, including an iced coffee on a sunny day and a chai latte. So do friendly staff, table service, a relaxed, chilled vibe, and outdoor seating with a view of the sea. One reviewer would like more vegan options, though they liked that milk alternatives carry no extra charge. The main complaint is cost. One diner who fancied a fry up thought the price was crazy and ordered the avocado on toast instead, which they found lovely.

“Really lovely food! The chef is a great cook. I fancied a fry up, but it was £17.45 which I thought was crazy! So I had avocado on toast which was lovely.”

“The best breakfast I've had locally! The interior is very stylish. A perfect place for a slow morning coffee. I've had eggs royal and they were 10/10, gorgeously gooey. I'll certainly return to try something else from the menu and to relax”
