About Harlequin Cafe & Catering
Breakfast drives the menu at Harlequin Cafe & Catering, a cafe on Leeds Road in Bradford, where the "belly buster" breakfast sits alongside the full breakfast for anyone arriving hungry. Teacakes, flat cakes, sandwiches and jacket potatoes fill out the rest of the day, and drinks are ordered separately from the food. Tables are taken on a walk-in basis, with no booking involved, and the kitchen runs daily through the daytime, Sunday mornings included. A step-free entrance means visitors with mobility needs can get in without help, high chairs suit families with young children, and seating outside gives the option of eating in the open air. Orders can also be taken away, and a delivery driver works out of the shop for anyone eating at home or at work. The catering side handles buffets arranged in advance for events including funerals.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the breakfast, singling out the teacakes and flat cakes as soft and lovely, with a Sunday morning breakfast or sandwich habit mentioned too. Food is repeatedly described as fresh, cooked to order and good value, and a few add jacket spuds as a quick, basic order. The staff come up consistently as friendly and polite, and one reviewer who lives in Scotland eats here on every family visit. The catering also earns praise, with one family describing a funeral buffet that was plentiful, with lots of choice and easy planning. The complaints are fewer but specific. One diner felt a full breakfast should include tea or coffee, and was unhappy when a server answered "cos it isn't" and tried to charge for an extra slice of toast after the toast arrived without the meal. Another says an order came out wrong, the food tasted bad and prices have risen since a visit years ago. Even so, one regular says every customer they have seen leaves the shop happy.

“I used to eat here about 5 years ago and it was okay, but now it’s a total disaster. The order was completely incorrect, and the prices are way too high. The food tasted so bad that it went straight into the trash after just one bite. Quality has dropped significantly.”

“I think if you're charging your prices for a full or belly buster breakfast you should include tea or coffee which isn't expensive addition to a breakfast that's where other cafes have the edge. I didn't like the young girls attitude towards me, when I asked if she could put some toast on as she brought out my two slices out without my breakfast for a while and I ate it cos it was a little bit of a wait and when I asked for another slice with the breakfast that came out she was gonna charge me and when I asked why tea or coffee wasn't included she responded with "cos it isn't" as if I fell out the sky! And the takeaway delivery guy who was there didn't like her response. I'm sorry but for me it's about customer experience and this place lacks it for me”
