  “The best venue, celebrated my birthday here - the VIP service was incredible, staff was lovely and friendly and the music was great! Loved having all the different rooms of music to move around. Will definitely be back!!!”

  “My wallet fell out of my pocket and not even one member of staff or people at the bar would spend 30 seconds helping us. It fell out in the ball pit, so we had a pretty good idea where it was and several of my friends tried to get the attention of staff. They all ignored us & when I called the next day or when I emailed no one even acknowledge my messages or answered the phone. It’s not an issue if it can’t be found but they didn’t even try.”

  “This place employs offensive and abusive bouncers. My partner and I (both in our mid-forties) visited last night and had a good night until closing, when we had a row with bouncers over using a toilet before leaving. One bouncer pushed and shoved both me and my partner out, while repeatedly shouting highly offensive and misogynistic (b and c) slurs at her. Shockingly, a group of 7-10 other bouncers, including a female guard, just stood there laughing in our faces. None of them tried to stop this abuse coming from their colleague. When I told them someone would have to answer for this, that same bouncer tried to intimidate me into a physical confrontation. Disturbing, thuggish behaviour. This has been reported to the police”

  “Most disgusting club in the whole of Bournemouth. Door staff are predatory, indoors staff are rude, aggressive and looking for fights. Music is an insult to the word music. Utterly terrible time in this place, can’t warn you enough to avoid”

  “They charged entry for a party for the couple, ofcourse spent a decent amount of money on drinks which weren’t cheap and this is coming from someone travelling from London, as we were expecting to party till 4am as was mentioned on the ticket, and they kicked everyone out at 12 30. They changed from being nice people to extremely rude behaviour trying to kick everyone out. Was a shit experience highly recommend to not choose this place.”

  “I am just writing to unfortunately state how terribly trained the male bartenders are at Bar So. I was there for a fun night out last weekend. I asked one of the bar men if he had any anti spike covers. He replied “no, just don’t do anything stupid with anyone “ The bar not providing anti spike covers in a nightclub is one thing but when a female is trying to have a safe night and then getting a response like that from the staff that should be protecting females is disgusting. It is a form of victim blaming, as if getting spiked would be the females fault! The staff there should be properly trained in VAWG and on spiking. I do hope that females can enjoy a safe night out and when we already have to go out of our way to protect ourselves the staff don’t throw comments like that.”

  “I had a deeply disappointing experience at Bar So. My friend and I were enjoying our evening near the DJ booth when a VIP guest threw a drink into the crowd, soaking us. Despite holding our drinks and having no involvement, the staff removed us while allowing the VIP guest to stay. This felt not only unfair but also homophobic. Additionally, the bouncers were hostile and seemed to believe they were superior, which matches other negative reviews. It’s clear that management needs to address these issues and treat all guests with respect. I'd recommend LOST for a night out. Dont bother with this place”

  “Security, Blatant Discrimination, and a Total Rip-Off If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Our experience at BarSo was utterly disgusting, and I urge anyone, especially people of colour, to avoid this place at all costs. The problems started before we even got in. The security staff are on a massive power trip, acting aggressive and intimidating from the outset. We were a diverse group of friends, smartly dressed, out to celebrate a birthday. While waiting, we witnessed the bouncers enforce their "dress code" with what can only be described as a blatant double standard. They turned away several groups of Black and Asian men for wearing "the wrong trainers" or "not fitting the vibe," only to let in groups of white lads wearing the exact same or even scruffier shoes moments later. The prejudice was so obvious it was sickening. It left a sour taste in our mouths before we'd even stepped inside. After that hostile welcome, they had the nerve to charge an extortionate £15 entry fee per person. To pay that much money just to enter a place that clearly has a problem with diversity is an insult. Hoping things might improve, we went inside. Unsurprisingly, they didn't. The drinks are a complete scam. I paid nearly £16 for a cocktail that was 90% ice and tasted like watered-down juice. A single spirit and mixer was over £10. It’s robbery, pure and simple. The whole time, the aggressive security guards lurk around inside, staring people down and creating a tense, toxic atmosphere instead of making you feel safe. It feels less like a nightclub and more like a high-security prison where you have to pay a fortune for the privilege of being there. This establishment is a disgrace. The discriminatory door policy, the intimidating security, and the ridiculously overpriced entry and drinks make for an awful experience. A venue's true colours are shown at its door, and BarSo's are ugly. Spend your hard-earned money somewhere in Bournemouth that actually welcomes everyone and doesn't try to rip you off at every turn. We will never be back.”

  “I have been here many times and Bar So is my favourite cocktail bar in Bournemouth . Every cocktail I’ve had, has been perfect . I went once for food and it is very very average . Squid was ok, the nori taco was unsatisfying and the chicken karage and takoyaki balls were ok too. Despite the food , the bar itself and the drinks are great . They’ve often got 2-4-1 going on too which is a bonus .”
