About Manchester Sweet Centre
On Whalley Range in Blackburn, Manchester Sweet Centre is a takeout restaurant serving Asian sweets, snacks, drinks, and desserts. Vegetable samosas come with a tangy, vinegary onion chutney, and the same condiment accompanies other fried items like pakoras rather than being sold on its own. The counter also turns out seekh kebabs and ras malai. Orders are taken on a walk-in basis, and the shop is often busy enough that a wait is common regardless of when customers arrive. The chutney portion given with samosas can vary from one visit to the next.

Customer Review Summary
Vegetable samosas are the clear draw, with reviewers repeatedly calling them unmatched over decades of visits and pairing them with the accompanying chutney, described as a tangy, vinegary, onion-heavy sauce with a "liquid gold" recipe nobody can replicate. Close behind are the seekh kebabs and the ras malai, also singled out as favorites, and several mention the place stays busy whenever they visit. Complaints center on portion consistency: multiple reviewers describe being given too little chutney with their samosas, calling the shop "stingy," and one recounts being refused a separate portion of green chutney, only paired with pakoras, at a price they felt was steep for two kilos. One reviewer also reports finding a hair in their samosa and disputes the owner's denial that it came from the shop. Another describes a till worker as rude and cold. A separate reviewer notes prices have crept up, recalling when two samosas and a drink cost less than they do now.
