Quick info
About The Clip Bar barbers
The Clip Bar barbers is a walk-in barber shop in Birmingham where children finish their cut with a sweet treat, which helps families with young children and those bringing a nervous first-timer. No appointments are taken, so you come in, sit down and wait your turn, with several barbers cutting at once and up to three on busier days. Weekends and school holidays fill up, including the day before children go back to school. The work covers adults and children, and takes in full restyles as well as trims of the same cut, with the team offering suggestions on styles and on hair and scalp care rather than simply cutting to order. One open room holds the chairs, so you can join the conversation going on or read the paper instead. A step-free entrance lets visitors with mobility needs get in without a kerb or step, and the doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers return to this barber shop for the care taken over each haircut, with one barber named again and again for a patient, calming manner. Parents describe a son with sensory issues, and another who will let only her cut his hair, while a 12 year old with knotted, damaged hair received advice on treating his scalp before the cut. Several say regulars have come for 15 years, and one father takes his 3 year old, who gets a sweet treat at the end. Reviewers contrast the unhurried work with rushed chain shops nearby and say the barbers offer suggestions while cutting exactly what was asked. Others praise the friendly conversation and a haircut that felt like a fresh start after years of disappointment. The complaints are about attention and speed. One reviewer left after a customer who arrived later was served first, and another calls the cut a rush job, with uneven lengths and requests ignored. Weekends and the day before school returns are described as the busiest times, and one reviewer notes that waits can be long, though the same reviewer keeps coming back.

“Gave this place a try, went once, won't be back. Not that great, rush job. Didn't cut lengths consistently and didn't listen to my requirements, too late when you've cut wrong. Not focused on his job. When my hair grows back I'll go elsewhere next time. Cheaper places than this place do a better job. Not worth the time or money to be honest.”

“Absolutely shocking place. Walked in and sat down. One of the barbers acknowledged I was there. Waited 15 mins. One customer had finished and another person walked in and got served before me. Thought sod this ill go somewhere else. What a joke.”

“Had my first haircut here today. Anita is a 5* barber. Brilliant service, extremely friendly and chatty and received a fantastic haircut (even after being nervous about a restyle) Will definitely make this my regular, highly recommended.”
