  “A fantastic restaurant, great food and generous portion sizes. Highly recommended and will visit again next time I'm in the area. If you're thinking of visiting at a popular evening time I suggest you book a table. We arrived early about 530pm and within in an hour all tables were full. Definitely a restaurant to visit if you're in Berwick upon Tweed.”

  “Mavi is the best Turkish restaurant I've been to in the UK! The dishes were extremely delicious. Especially, yaprak sarma was just like the ones I had in Turkey, the taste was exactly the same. Eating traditional yaprak sarma in the UK made me really happy. It made my day. Alongside yaprak sarma, I ordered humus, which also brought me to Turkey with its great taste. So, even before my main dish, the starters already put me into shape of enjoying authentic Turkish cuisine in Berwick. After the starters, my İzmir köfte came. It was served with rice, and with this combination I was able to enjoy the classic Turkish meatball experience in Berwick. The meatballs were great. I enjoyed every bite. I also ate baklava and it was also just like the baklavas in Turkey. Honestly, I had an amazing time at Mavi!   “Very high quality food with a decent dining area. Will have to say that portion sizes are not great, got the mixed grill shown in the picture for £30, expecting atleast a bit more rice and a piece or two more chicken.”

  “Met friends here for lunch. Good choices on the menu for food and drink. Good service from friendly staff. No complaints from anyone on my table regarding the food, all had empty plates. Food was outstanding, felt fresh and full of flavour. Really enjoyed the salmon saute dish followed by sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Nice atmosphere overall. Will return when in the area again. Advisable to book as the restaurant, especially in the evening can get quite busy.”

  “Last week when I visited Berwick I enjoyed some fabulous Turkish food @mavi_turkishrestaurant my goodness I’m so pleased I chose this restaurant. I ordered a couple started which included hummus and fresh Turkish bread, deep fried calamari which was fresh soft perfectly cooked calamari wrapped in a light crisp batter. For my main course I went for Tavuk shish delicious charcoal grilled chicken shish marinated with fresh herbs and spices. This was served with ezme rice and salad. Everything tasted Delicous the chicken was so juicy and tasty. If you ever in Berwick it’s a must visit. The staff were lovley and made me feel really welcome. Thank you for a beautiful experience”

  “Great authentic Turkish food. Very accommodating. We rang to book a table on a very busy evening and they made room for us despite the busy and almost full booking. The service was excellent and the food was amazing.”

  “This is a lovely place, dine in or take out, we’ve done both. The prices are moderate and the taste is delicious. We do dine as a family with Coeliacs, gluten free, dairy free and they’ve been able to accommodate. …”

  “Decent enough food but nothing special, lacking that extra bit of kick. Service was really good though and very nice setting and atmosphere. Beer was over priced for the area at £5.50 for a 330ml bottle”

  “A very enjoyable meal at this restaurant. A warm welcome on arrival and the atmosphere is both cosy and stylish. Food extremely good quality and value and the wines highly affordable. I had 4 lamb chops which were delicious with minimal fat. The accompanying salad matched very well and the dip was very tasty and no unnecessary heat to overwhelm the palate. Highly recommended for both the food and the experience.”
