  “Had a great breakfast – Keir really looked after us. Had a bit of trouble with parking beforehand – I suggest the nearby Castlegate long stay so that you can avoid the disk system – this seems to be challenging to get hold of. The place itself was great, and the service was amazing. The Food was really well presented and generous for the money.”

  “Good beer selection here and although we didnt eat there there was a good choice of pub grub. What we saw being taken to tabkes looked tasty. Nice outside seating area for sunny days and a pool table and big screen TVs inside the pub which were showcasing different sports. Staff seemed a bit slow to clear tables but I noted that the majority of diners where either outside as it was a lovely day or they were in the dining area adjacent to the outdoor seating area. Furher inside the pub there were a couple of uncleared tables which prevented some customers from utilising the space. Dog friendly with treats fir our furry friends Apart from uncleared tables it was a lovely venue and will visit again in the future.”

  “I honestly can’t compute the 4-5 star reviews. I have to concur with the other low reviews. Drinks served by a guy who looked like he had just stepped out a swimming pool - Absolutely dripping a sweat. Sure there was some droplets in my Shandy. Every staff member not very well dressed, disheveled, not presentable. And for the pièce de résistance the Food - Just no. Pub food is bla at the best of times. This was blugh. Not good. 3 meals not one very good. Little on the plate and words to describe are bland, dry, small, dissatisfying, disappointing, not expensive but expensive for what it was. We ate n drank what we could and enjoyed our walk afterwards. Not very clean also.”

  “Shocking experience, the staff were rude when I tried to complain about my food. The food was dry and cold when arrived and the rest of the party had already finished their food. Never again will I visited this place. Save your money”

  “I ordered the Spicy Beef Nachos because the menu clearly states they come with “spicy pulled beef chilli.” Unfortunately, what I was actually served was minced beef, which looked and tasted like cheap tinned mince rather than pulled beef. If the dish contains minced beef, the menu should say so accurately instead of advertising pulled beef.”

  “I had previously left a negative review on our past experience. However, after our most recent visit, my wife and I were really happy we tried it again. Although rushed off their feet as per, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Our meal and drinks arrived in good time and I must say, the food was plentiful and cooked to perfection. Looking forward to our next visit/s during our holiday in June. Well done guys!👏👏👏”

  “This would be the 4th visit to the leaping salmon but first time reviewing it as I don’t ten to do reviews but felt I really had to. Myself and family from Scotland visit Berwick at least once a year to haven caravan park and my mum dad and other family live in Newcastle so always meet up as it’s like half way travel to meet. The customer service is second to none never had any bad service or any issues which is why we alway go back my daughter is autistic and can be very loud and clumsy even spilling drinks ect but always made to feel like it’s okay not a problem they just clean it up. Today it was super busy with football thankfully we booked week before but even with it being so busy and when I say busy I mean you can’t move at the bar not a table left empty people standing waiting for ppl to leave to grab a table the staff were just getting through it and doing a great job!! We can’t wait to return again. Big shout out to all the staff working as a team and smashing it!! Sorry didn’t take pictures of the food was to hungry to wait 🤣 we ordered 4 adult meals chips and cheese 2 extra jugs of gravy and potion of onion rings 2 pints of Stella 2 pitchers and 2 shots plus a glass of water was just under £160”
