Customer Review Summary

Diners return for Turkish grilled meats, with the chicken shish, tender lamb chops and Iskender kebab named most often, the last described as especially good the next day. Close behind are whitebait, a mushroom and cheese starter, garlic sauce on the bread, mocktails and desserts that reviewers call well presented. A couple of reviewers praise the two course lunch menu for its value and portion size, and one notes a wide range of gluten free options. Staff are repeatedly described as warm, polite and friendly, attentive without hurrying a table, and the room is called clean. The recurring caveat is demand. Reviewers say it is usually full and loud, one advises booking in advance, and another says tables are timed so guests are pushed to vacate regardless of party size, adding that it is hard to catch a waiter before ordering. Celebrations feature often, and one couple describes a table decorated with a heart of red roses and a dessert plate with Happy Anniversary written on it.

“Excellent Chinese buffet. There is a good selection of fresh cooked dishes for starters, mains and sweets including self service ice cream machine. There is also a Tepinyaki kitchen for cooking your own selection of food. Tables cleared quickly after each meal choice and staff always quicly sweeping up food dropped on the floor. No wait midweek but queueing system at weekends to cope with demand Fully recommended”

“Came on Saturday night for a celebration with my family. Having enjoyed years of amazing Turkish food when we lived in North London, we found it difficult to get something that matched that in Essex. Until now! The greeting was pleasant, the service was friendly and helpful and the food was superb. Excellently seasoned and really good portion sizes. The lamb chops were seriously tender and flavourful. Desserts were also very good. I'm glad that we have finally found our 'go to' Turkish restaurant in Essex 👏”

“Nice and clean restaurant with friendly staff. Two course lunch under £15. Nice portion size for lunch. No service charge which tops it, but left a large tip on top. Food is nicely presented. This restaurant thinks of guest and food first, great!”

“We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Aspera Benfleet! Everything was incredible, but what truly blew us away was the amazing anniversary surprise they prepared for us. The team went above and beyond by beautifully decorating our table with a heart shape made of red roses and a lovely candle in the middle. To top it off, we were touched by the stunning dessert presentation with "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate. The attention to detail, the warm hospitality, and the fantastic atmosphere made our special day unforgettable. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff at Aspera for making us feel so celebrated. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended!”

“Very good Turkish restaurant. Mocktails are nice. The garlic sauce on the bread is nice. The mushroom and cheese starter is nice. The Iskender kebab is extremely nice especially on the next day. Usually full with people because it's a good restaurant and people are loud and stink of perfumes and there can be singing performers but the acoustic materials of the room are pretty good with acoustic wall panels”
