  “A fantastic experience at The Herd Steak Restaurant! Located right under the bridge on street level, this basement-style restaurant has a really cozy and relaxed atmosphere. It felt lovely and cool inside, which was especially refreshing during hot weather. The main highlight, of course, was the food—the steaks were incredible, juicy, and cooked to perfection. Tip: I strongly recommend making a booking in advance, as the place gets very busy and crowded on peak days. It’s well worth planning ahead for!”

  “Had a wonderful dining experience here. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was absolutely delicious, with every dish prepared to a high standard and full of flavour. What really stood out, however, was the exceptional service. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. A special mention goes to Karl, who went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. After learning that I was from China, he even took the time to learn a few Chinese words to greet me. It was such a thoughtful gesture and made the experience feel very personal and warm. Highly recommended, and I will definitely be returning in the future.”

  “This was our first time at 'The Herd' and we had read some really good positive reviews online. Located in the heart of Bath Spa town centre the atmosphere we found entering into the restaurant itself you have to walk down quite a few uneven stairs and it looked like a lot needed doing on the walls itself as it was very white everywhere.. maybe something designed on the walls would make it look a bit more appealing upon finding our table? There was a feeling of hardly any ventilation within where we were sat and the AC looked rather dated and outdated to go with the theme. We were very low down and on lake level I think. No data connection in there so you have to ask for the WiFi password which is by the way 'Vegetarian' 😲 The atmosphere was very quiet indeed as there was only 2 other people seated in there at the time of us arriving. Almost subdued to a point. We had to ask for some bottled tap water upon arrival and were then waited by the waitress Eveline. We went with the multi based steak meat platter which looked lovely originally and the first piece was a fillet steak which tasted delicious 😋. However much to our dismay this is where we ended up amongst the other steaks eating what felt like endless pieces of fat and gristle which we obviously had to leave on our plates at the end. We wasn't best impressed I will say as we were expecting so much more from our 🦬 experience all round. We didn't want to cause a scene as we would of had no idea how the chef would of taken to our first impressions with a new meat board itself all round so we paid £100 all round I think for everything including and then went on our way afterwards. We had a similar meat platter choice at Gauchos where the meat was lovely all round and we were catered and looked after accordingly. We were hopeful 'The Herd' would of been able to match that experience, but unfortunately we will not be back, sorry guys!!”
