About Be At One - Bath

Be At One - Bath is a cocktail bar in Bath, at Unit V6 by the bus and train station. The menu centres on sweet, sour and spicy cocktails, and the bar also runs mixing masterclasses alongside the regular drinks service. Customer Review Summary

Reviewers come mainly for the cocktails, calling them proper ones with a massive choice, and for friendly bartenders who will go off menu, such as an amaretto sour that isn't listed. Close behind are the music and dancing, with one regular calling it the summer spot and another naming it a favourite for an after work margarita. Bartenders also help indecisive drinkers choose, and a few mention the nibbles as a good addition and the spot near the train station as handy. Not every visit lands. One parent says a staff member refused to sell water or let a visibly unwell child use the bathroom tap, citing plumbing works, and found the response indifferent. Another calls it a solid, reliable option without anything standing out. Still, one reviewer says a bartender folded a rose from a cocktail napkin, and a hen party of 35 with no booking was waved in by security and ended up dancing and singing.

“Fab place!! New favourite place in Bath for an after work margarita. The best drink deals and all the bartenders are so much fun and sooo friendly. We had such a special evening last night and was made to feel so spoilt with our (maybe too many) music requests. Thank you Casey for the most awesome night!! 🍹”

“I’ve always loved be at one! It was the place we’d always been end up at 1am on a Saturday night! Recently my friends and I have been going in the day time and early evenings! It’s been fantastic! The team there really always make us feel welcomed and at home! The enthusiasm of them, the amazing drinks and great music really make this place amazing! It’s definitely been the summer spot”

“Had a great time here as always. Always pop by after getting the train back to Bath. Tried some of the nibbles recently which I didn’t know about which is such a great addition. Bartenders were also super helpful with my indecisive Mother and suggesting drinks for her as she gets overwhelmed with the menu. Highly recommend x”

“Today it was extremely hot, and after a car trip my son started feeling very unwell and needed to vomit. I was genuinely worried he could be suffering from heat exhaustion or heat stroke. I immediately stopped the car and went into the first place I could find so I could buy some water and help him cool down by washing his face in the bathroom. As soon as we stepped inside, we were stopped by a member of staff — a bald man with a ginger beard — who informed us that it was an over-18 venue. I explained that was fine and that I only needed to buy a bottle of water because my 8-year-old son was feeling sick. He then told me they didn’t sell water, which I already found quite unbelievable. I then politely asked if we could at least use the bathroom tap because my son was visibly feverish and unwell — something that was obvious, considering he was barefoot and shirtless after becoming sick from the heat.instead of showing even basic human empathy, he claimed there were “plumbing works” and refused to help in any way. I completely understand that businesses have rules and policies that staff are expected to follow, but there must also be room for common sense and compassion, especially when a clearly sick child is involved. What upset me most was not only the refusal itself, but the complete indifference. At no point did he offer to bring out a cup of tap water for my son while we waited outside, or show any concern whatsoever for a child who was visibly distressed and overheating. That lack of empathy is deeply disappointing and, frankly, unacceptable. Small acts of kindness in situations like this can make a huge difference and help avoid situations becoming far more serious. What makes this even more concerning is that this person works in a bar environment, where young people or vulnerable customers may easily become intoxicated, unwell, or unable to clearly explain their circumstances. In that kind of setting, staff should be especially capable of recognising when someone may be experiencing a medical issue or distress and responding with basic humanity and common sense.the complete inability or unwillingness to acknowledge that an obviously sick child needed immediate help is deeply worrying. Situations involving dehydration, heat exhaustion, or medical emergencies should never be dismissed with indifference or excuses.”
