Orleto Lounge is a British restaurant at 2 East Sq in Basildon, open daily. Inside, a two-floor atrium has big windows at the front, and the wall behind the bar is built from an old basketball court floor. Armchairs, sofas and board games fill the space, along with a gallery of pictures and paintings. Breakfast is served, and the menu also covers tapas, with cocktails and beer at the bar. A live singer performs in the evening. The team will change or swap items on a dish on request, and pets are allowed.

Friendly staff are the draw reviewers raise most, described as welcoming, polite and attentive, and one diner says the head chef happily swapped items on their order. Food earns specific praise: a Nasi Goreng one couple singled out after four visits, breakfasts that a few call a new go-to, tapas with a drink and a catch-up, delicious cocktails, and a freshly put on Hofmeister pint. First time visit to this restaurant it was absolutely phenomenal and I don’t use that word often it really was that good. 5 stars - food was bangin’ and the staff were ever so nice and attentive. “You can’t miss big, bold and beautiful Orleto Lounge, on the corner of the new East Square under the gold and grey hexagons. We’ve two lovely outdoor terraces and our huge windows let in so much light to our two-floor atrium space inside, with floating clouds of tassel-y lampshades. There’s a gallery worth of pictures and paintings, comfy armchairs and sofas, board games and the floor of an old basketball court on the wall behind the bar. Naturally.”
