About Willie Wastles Sports Bar & Restaurant
Willie Wastles Sports Bar & Restaurant on New Bridge Street in Ayr is a sports bar where the walls carry Scottish history, food, and sports decor, and TVs stream both sports and horse races throughout the space. The kitchen serves food all day, starting with a build-your-own breakfast menu and running through to evening plates, with vegan options that include a burger and a cheesecake or mousse. A full bar sits alongside, with diet and full-fat soft drinks available alongside the drinks menu. The team welcomes dogs, and bookings can be made through the website. Customer Review Summary
Several name the "Build your own" breakfast and Super Bock pints as highlights, alongside friendly service and a clean, spacious layout with plenty of screens. A few note occasional slip-ups, like forgotten cutlery or wait-staff delays, and one diner was unhappy enough to walk out before ordering. Most call it a welcoming, central spot worth returning to.

“The only 2 things that were wrong was that staff forgot the cutlery and there was no prawn cocktail otherwise it was a nice meal.”

“The menu grabbed my attention. Well wrote and simple, it wasn't overcrowded and explained everything needed to know. Booked a table on the website for myself and 3 others which was easy to navigate and well communicated in email once confirmed. First expectations on the place was woah this place is much bigger, but it wasn't filled with just beer mats and posters it had a little of everything scottish history, foods and sports. I liked how it felt welcoming, clean and well mapped out, we weren't tripping over furniture. Plenty of drink choices, they had full fat drinks as well as the diet. Always looking for my own choice and not chosen for me. Food - Prawn cocktail starter, well presented and tasted fabulous. I liked the little touch of serving on Prawn crackers. Gammon steak for main, which was cooked just right and wasn't over salted. Chips were oven chips, slightly dry but a good choice of sauce would help. The egg cooked solid but likely if I had asked for runny I would have got it. Onion rings as an extra side and these tasted really really good. Overall- Friendly staff fast to assist, plenty of choices , clean, presentable and spacious. Price seemed reasonable for our choices i didn't feel out of pocket. Great dining experience. Definitely give it a try if you're passing or in the town.”

“Positives: They sell Super Bock pints 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 at 3.80£ per pint during launching month!! Lush! Dog menu 😍 Nice staff (props to Jacob) Really yummy vegan cheesecake (they call it mousse) Alright vegan burguer (but it's the only vegan option) ----- Negative: The tv screens are always streaming horse races. One goes to the pub to relax, not to feel sad and stressed seeing animal cruelty 👎👎👎👎👎”
