About Ashton-Grill
Ashton-Grill is a Turkish restaurant at 292 North Street Works in Ashton Under Lyne, run as a halal Kurdish kitchen that has served the Oldham area since 2023. A tandoor oven bakes the naan and flatbreads on the spot, so the bread comes fresh from the oven. The menu includes chicken shawarma, kobeda and a mixed grill, and salad is served with the meals. Fridges display the food, so diners can see the dishes and choose what they want. The restaurant is open daily.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken shawarma is the dish reviewers raise most, described as juicy, charred and perfectly spiced, with several saying it beats the usual generic doner. Close behind are the breads, with the naan called crisp and not oily, or soft and thin, and flatbreads baked on the spot in a tandoor oven. Lamb chops, a tender and juicy mixed grill, hummus, chilli sauce, a chicken burger meal and crispy chips also earn praise, along with friendly staff and a very clean dining room. Pizza is called passable, or more cheese than sauce. Complaints centre on takeaway and a few dishes. One lamb tikka came with few pieces of meat on a mountain of rice, and one reviewer found the kobeda too sweet. One reviewer dislikes having to order through Uber Eats, and a phoned order was not started until they arrived. One delivery arrived with every shawarma box smothered in oil and went straight in the bin. Another collection order left out three paid toppings, so the margherita pizza was bare, and the salad was missing from the wings and the wrap.

“Myseld and the wife ate here this afternoon with my two daughters. We all thoroughly enjoyed it. The food and service and the ambience was great. Very clean place, well kept and modern inside. An absolute gem. Forget rusholme and Levenshulme, go here. From Phil the blue”

“I finished early at work and ordered a takeaway. Cost £30 and no extras what I payed for wasn’t there. I ordered a margherita pizza with extra 3 toppings,I didn’t get any at all,so my pizza was bare! also no salad on the wings which I’d ordered 2 portions, also no salad on the Donna wrap. Always had nice food from here, but today wasn’t good at all!!”

“The food here is brilliant to say the least. When I personally came here, I tried the chicken burger meal, and its safe to say it's on the best chicken burgers you can find in the Greater Manchester Area. Furthermore, the staff here are extremely friendly and can assist you with anything you need without any issues whatsoever. And finally, the restaurant has an overall authentic and modernistic design, which makes the experience everlasting and even better. Overall, I'd definitely reconmend you come here and I will definitely be going here again soon.”

“The lamb chops were the most delicious dish out of the three we ordered. The lamb tikka had very little meat — just a few pieces and a mountain of rice.As for the kobeda & chicken tikka kebab: the kobeda tasted strange and a bit too sweet, but the chicken was delicious. The hummus and sauces were excellent. They also have a tandoor oven, and the flatbreads are baked right here on the spot. The quality of the flatbreads is simply outstanding.Overall, it was a good experience. The service was decent and friendly, and the prices are good. However, there is still room for improvement”

“Absolutely fantastic experience at Ashton Grill! The food was good and cooked to perfection. The mixed grill was tender, juicy, and generously portioned, and the freshly baked bread and salads were delicious. The staff were nice and welcoming The restaurant was spotless, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. Great value for money and easily one of the best Turkish restaurants I’ve visited. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend Ashton Grill to anyone looking for amazing food and excellent service!”
