About Baravin
Baravin is a modern British restaurant on the seafront at 1 Marine Terrace in Aberystwyth, where rotunda-style windows face the harbour and the sunset, so diners can watch the light change over the water while they eat. The kitchen cooks in an easygoing, contemporary style, with pizza and pasta sitting alongside seafood plates. Crispy cockles and a prawn and chorizo linguine appear on the menu, and the pizzas are stone baked. Baravin serves both lunch and evening meals.

Customer Review Summary
Crispy cockles are the dish reviewers raise most, called a highlight even by a diner who otherwise found the meal underwhelming. Close behind are the stone baked pizzas, described as full of flavour, and the crispy Asian beef noodle dish. The prawn and chorizo linguine divides opinion: one reviewer praises it, while another finds it lacking in flavour with low quality chorizo. For dessert, diners name the upside-down cheesecake and a coffee liqueur ice cream pudding. Several praise the friendly, welcoming staff, the harbour views and the sunset from the windows, and celebration meals come up often. The complaints are about value and atmosphere. A few call it pricey, one finds a cheeseburger and chips overpriced, and one says the cocktails were underwhelming and the room lacked warmth. Another notes limited alcohol with nothing on draft. One party of four says they were told the place was fully booked while it looked less than half full. Another reviewer describes a server forgetting to apply a deal to the bill, then raising it and fixing it immediately.

“Had a wonderful birthday meal at Baravin with my husband! The starters were delicious, the mains were perfect, and the staff were so warm and welcoming. Watching the sunset from the window with my husband enjoying a beer was the perfect ending to a beautiful evening. Couldn’t have asked for more! ❤️ Highly recommend!”

“Came on a Monday night, it was relatively busy with a big group in the dining area which created a bit of a buzz, but otherwise was lacking in atmosphere. Chap who took our order was friendly and seemed to be running about doing most of the front of house work while other staff just yawned and chatted (didn't even get a response when we said goodbye!) Food was ok, nothing special, prawn and chorizo linguine was lacking in flavour with low quality chorizo and ~£20 for a cheeseburger and chips sets an expectation. House wine was nice, cocktails were more weatherspoons level. Highlight was the crispy cockles for sure Even considering the location, felt considerably overpriced for what it was, had the food been better or the atmosphere warmer it wouldn't have been so disappointing. Lots of good places locally to eat, would recommend trying somewhere else”

“Top class Aber venue. Great food great view friendly staff. The coffee liqueur ice cream pudding combo was terrific value. Decent cocktails. Pizzas proper stone baked full of flavour. A credit to Wales! Highly recommended.”

“Tried this place at random on a Friday lunch time as a party of four. What a great surprise the food was amazing along with the friendly service! The crispy cockles made us curious and were absolutely fantastic!! The crispy Asian beef noodle dish wow. Yeah you can get cheaper food but for a few quid more get quality and taste. Fantastic”
