About Husk
Husk is a Southern restaurant in Charleston, set inside a restored Victorian-era home at 76 Queen St. An ever-changing menu of locally sourced Southern dishes defines the kitchen, with the building's history shaping how each meal unfolds. The signature Hearth Baked Skillet Cornbread anchors the table, while Baked Oysters and Snapper reflect the kitchen's focus on regional sourcing and seasonal rotation. Because the dining rooms fill across several floors of the house, booking ahead is advised.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently celebrate the key lime pie ice cream as a standout dessert, with multiple diners calling it unforgettable and among the best they have ever had. The deviled eggs, seared scallops, and cornbread skillet also draw frequent praise, along with the pimento cheese and biscuit board and the pastrami brisket. Service earns high marks across reviews, with guests describing servers as knowledgeable, warm, and attentive, and several noting thoughtful gestures like surprise anniversary menus and mocktails for nondrinkers. A few reviewers flag specific dishes that fell short, including rigatoni with lamb ragu that one diner found sticky and tough, and an under-al dente pasta that another described as resinous. One guest felt pressured to order quickly and left dissatisfied with the lamb ragu overall. Several suggest making reservations in advance, especially for special occasions.

“Fantastic dinner! Started out with the fried ribs. For my main I had the scallops. The sauce was a little spicy but overall the dish was delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly! We selected the grits and cornbread as our sides. Wasn’t too thrilled about the cornbread, it wasn’t anything special and tasted a little dry. However, the grits were really good. Lastly, we ended the meal with their seasonal key lime pie ice cream. Hands down the best ice cream ever! The buttery graham cracker pieces were a nice touch. Overall a great meal and great service.”

“Overall enjoyed the meal and thought both the service and ambiance were excellent. The cornbread, rabbit, dessert, drinks were all fantastic. The rigatoni was honestly not good and stood out because the rest of the meal was so strong. I think the dish would be a lot better if it committed fully to either a lamb ragu or a mushroom pasta. As served, the mushrooms were great, but the nutty ricotta and (small amounts of) gamey lamb did not go well together and I felt a little off after eating it. I would still recommend Husk overall, but I would not recommend the rigatoni unless it is reworked.”

“Had an amazing dinner while celebrating a family member's birthday. From the time we were greeted upon entering until we left, we were treated excellently. Our server, Jeremy, was knowledgeable, polite, and just damn friendly. Explained the dishes, offered suggestions, the whole nine yards. Food was incredible. 22oz ribeye, pastrami brisket, chicken, cornbread, carrots, salad, and the wildly great deviled eggs. All top notch. Drinks were fantastic as well. A+++++++++++”

“Husk knows how to create an unforgettable experience from start to finish. My wife and I first dined here when we got married five years ago, so returning for our fifth anniversary felt especially meaningful, and they exceeded every expectation. From the hostess to our server, the service was exceptional. We were seated on the upper balcony, which made for a perfect anniversary setting. Our server noticed that I was not drinking alcohol and thoughtfully brought me a mocktail while serving my wife champagne so we could toast our anniversary together. That level of attention to detail was truly appreciated and made the evening feel special. The food was outstanding. We started with the deviled eggs, which were incredible. We shared the 22 oz ribeye, cooked perfectly, and the chimichurri and mushrooms elevated the dish even more. The cornbread was excellent, and the carrots were a surprising favorite—even though I normally do not enjoy cooked carrots, these were so good that my wife jokingly asked who I was. To finish, we had the grasshopper pie, which was delicious, but the key lime pie ice cream was on another level, absolutely unforgettable. Easily some of the best ice cream I have ever had. We do not make it to Charleston often, but Husk made our trip and anniversary completely worth it. We traveled from Austin, Texas, and can only wish they would open a location closer to home. If you hesitate because of the price, I can honestly say it is worth every penny. Highly recommended.”

“Loved everything about our meal at Husk. The food was so flavorful and a bit unique. The chicken dish was the best I’ve ever had. The key lime pie ice cream was out of this world. The atmosphere at Husk is very nice but friendly which I loved. Will definitely return.”
