  “I don't normally leave reviews, but I felt compelled to share this experience. This was my third visit to the salon. I've always had a good experience with my pedicures, which is why I decided to return and try gel french white tips on my short natural nails. My manicure was done while I was receiving my pedicure. During the process, I noticed a hair stuck on one of my nails and tried several times to point it out to the technician. Each time, I felt brushed off and was told he would fix it later. He laughed and said he was only prepping my nails and would finish them after my pedicure. As he applied the white french tips, everything felt very rushed. He quickly cleaned up the lines with a brush dipped in acetone, and I noticed visible brush strokes in several nails. I attempted multiple times to mention this, but again I was interrupted and told that he could fix it later. After my pedicure, I was moved to another station where he completed the cuticle work and shaping. I brought up both the hair and the brush strokes again. He tried filing off the hair but eventually realized it had already been cured under multiple layers of gel. At that point, he acknowledged that it couldn't be fixed without removing the gel and redoing it, which he eventually did. When I mentioned the brush strokes again, I was told they weren't noticeable. My concern wasn't about perfection, I understand that no two nails will be identical. I simply expected cleaner, more symmetrical French white tips since I was paying extra for that service. It seemed like there may have been a language barrier because when I explained that one side of several tips appeared thicker than the other, he responded that there are ten fingers and it's impossible for every nail to look exactly the same. That wasn't what I meant. My concern was that the white tips themselves were uneven because they were cleaned up from left to right without checking for symmetry. What disappointed me most was that the work felt rushed from start to finish. Had the technician taken a moment to inspect his work or listened when I first pointed out the hair and brush strokes, this situation could have been avoided. Eventually, he realized I wasn't happy and offered to redo the nails that bothered me. However, this came after he told me I was being difficult, asked if I had OCD, and said I was making him sweat. As someone who is naturally non-confrontational and trying to get better at advocating for myself, those comments made me very uncomfortable. I politely declined having them redone because I no longer felt comfortable. To be clear, I had a great pedicure experience. My issue was specifically with the manicure service and the way my concerns were handled. If customers are paying extra for services like French white tips, I believe extra care should be taken to ensure the work is clean, even, and meets expectations. I paid $90 before tip for a gel pedicure and french white tip with gel top coat and chrome. Unfortunately, while I would return for a pedicure, I would think twice before getting my nails done again.”

  “I don’t normally do paint my nails, but they have been breaking and tearing really bad recently, so I went and had them done. The lady used SNS which I had never heard of, she said it would help harden my nails and make them stronger, we shall see. Anyway she was super nice and explained everything she was doing, she was also very patient with me when I wouldn’t relax and bend my fingers🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I think they turned out great.”

I chose to try Holly Nails because they had immediate availability and their prices were about 15% cheaper than the other salons. Everyone was very friendly, personable, and accommodating. I am very satisfied with the level of service and quality I received today! If they started giving out glasses of wine for customers, that would be a nice touch…hint hint! 😉”
