  “Black Womens Hair! almost all of their customers are black with textured or thicker hair but yet and still, despite correction, Washers will comb your hair from the root to end pulling your hair out with 0 remorse ! If you tell them to start from the ends and work their way up. They listen to what you said & continue to do what THEY want, as if it’s a free service. Not only that my scalp was burning during my wash and when I asked why she replied “hair dirty” I told her I know my hair is dirty but didn’t understand why my scalp would be on fire! She ignored me and continued to talk to fellow staff members. I’ve been giving Harlet’s my money for years but I am done.”

  “BEWARE!!!!!! THIS PLACE WILL DESTROY YOUR HAIR!! The washers RIP your hair out!! The sinks hurt your neck so you don't even enjoy what should be enjoyable. They sneak perm into the conditioner without your permission! Keep going and you'll see your hair get thinner and thinner!! Its really diabolical!! I really feel like hitting them with a law suit!! You don't have permission to PERM MY HAIR!! They burn your hair out during the blow drying process. You can't express yourself because they all act like nobody understands English yet they're working in America!! In New York, the Dominican Shops take good care of you. This place is a HOT MESS!!!”

  “Overall, it was a positive experience. However, the lady who washed my hair was too rough and didn’t know how to comb my hair out. The technique is to start from the ends and work your way to the roots, but she pulled my hair from the roots to the end Tearing out a lot of my hair as she went through it. She did not speak English, so that didn’t help. I know they’re experience with doing African-American hair and should know better by now, but some people are just mean and that’s all to it. The blow dryer did a great job and so did the girl who flat iron and trim my hair. Because of them, I write this before, but they could’ve easily been a two.”

  “I have only been here twice and the second time will be my last. My first visit I got a wash and straighten. My second visit, I intended to get a root touch up. But instead I left crying with a red head of hair. The “stylist” asked what I wanted to get done and I explained I just wanted my dark roots touched up. She asked me to pick a color which I did, not knowing that would be the worst decision ever. I specifically stated at least 4 different times I’m not sure the best color to match but I don’t want to change my hair color I just want my roots touched up. The first picture is my hair before entering Harley’s, the second is how I left. After stressing and crying most of the night, I called the shop the next day and was told to come to the shop, for the stylist to see how she can fix the color. While in the chair, we discussed color options to fix it but the stylist stated that I would have to pay again for her to fix her mistake. I don’t believe I should have to pay for her incompetence. As a hair professional if you could not deliver on my serves I would rather you let me know.”
