  “We were a party of six and they got us seated right away. They were pretty attentive even though the server was busy so that's good. We got thin crust and deep dish cheese. When a place boasts that they're #1 in the U.S., they better deliver. They didn't. The pizza's were just 'ok'. Definitely NOT #1 in the U.S. There was no depth in flavor; no flovor staying power. There's better pizza in the suburbs of Chicago. CRAZY POUR in Villa Park, IL has much better deep dish. Being born in Chicago and raised on Chicago Pizza of FATHER & SON and GOLDEN CRUST on the NW side from the 70's & 80's, Pequod's doesn't come close. Now is it bad? No. Not at all. It will definitely satisfy your pizza craving. It's just NOT #1 The picture I have a how the boxed up the leftovers so the next day snacking was not pleasant”

  “This pizzeria is my most favorite in the city! The signature crust on the pizza can only be found here. If you are planning a visit, I very highly recommend reserving a table in advance. Friendly service.”

  “I'm a huge pizza fanatic, and I'm on a quest to find the absolute perfect pizza... I think quest is complete. Seriously it's one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Their signature crust is the best ever, and you'll fall in love. My only real complaint is the size of the tables. They are so small and cramped that it feels like everyone is in your business, but other then that the food is sublime.”

  “This was my first time having Chicago pizza and this was AMAZING! This restaurant is busy, so we made a reservation for 2 a few days in advance. Once seated, they tell you that it takes 45min to make the pizza. It was well worth the wait! I'm not someone who is into "bready" pizza but it was so soft and airy that I couldn't get enough. A”

  “Absolutely one of the top three pizzas I've ever had. Hard to decide between the three different styles of pizza. I've had authentic Neapolitan at Geno e Toto Sorbillo's in Naples, New York style from Dom himself at Di Fara's in Brooklyn ,and now Pequod's has taken its place what among the top three for me. I know it's not traditional Chicago style, more pan / tavern, but my God it was divine. Was with a group of coworkers while visiting Chicago. Got the large with pepperoni, sausage, and meatballs. Add extra cheese for that extra punch. It was massive. We literally could only eat one slice each though my eyes were trying to tempt me to get one more slice. I did take two slices to go. Lol The caramelized cheese on the crust, the quality of meats, the stringiness of the cheese, and a great balance between the bread and the sauce made it impeccable. Hospitality was easy going and very helpful with suggestions. Chill vibe with good music and quirky decor. The only thing I regret was not being able to go back the next day to get another round. The one suggestion I would give is to work with Gold Belly to offer more than just a pepperoni or sausage pizza. And only having a medium available to ship instead of a true large. I would pay extra to be able to get a large three meat pizza from you again. Live in Texas so I have to go to the shipping route but the price is pretty high, and only getting a medium one-topping hasn't convinced me yet. If anybody is wondering about going, just do it. Whether your local or out of town, you will definitely leave satisfied if you love different styles of pizza. Top notch”

  “I give the pizza a 7 1/2 out of 10. Our waitress was lovely. The soda tasted pretty nasty though must be something with the fountain machine. The vibes were good, but the pizza definitely has a reputation that it does not live up to and maybe that’s not fair to the pizza lol it was good not Great, but the experience alone was enjoyable”

  “Sadly first time in chicago and first time having a pizza in town. Was recommended to come here but staff were rude and unhelpful. Signage and advertising states open till midnight so they said take iut only at 10:50pm. Loads of seating available and stress in the workforce due to "under staffing", we were treated like it was our fault. Its a shame, I may come back to try another time but im my first impressions of evening chicago pizza has been terrible... Food was fine as we took it to the abandoned frog pub around the corner who were really welcoming and hospitable!”

  “There is really nothing negative that anyone can say about this place. It is #1 for a reason. Everything about it from the vibe and service to the flavor is top tier. It was our privilege to dine here. Get the cheesy garlic bread, and any pizza. Just know 1 to 2 slices is all you'll eat. We ordered way too much but we're happy to have leftovers.”

  “Totally average deep dish, people LOVE it though. You may need to love deep dish or bread. We got delivery from here on a Saturday night, around 5pm it was a quick delivery. We got a mushroom, and meatball deep dish. It was dry, even with having ordered extra Marinara, garlic sauce, blue cheese, and Caesar. The grease never comes through to make the deep dish bread soft. It also didn’t have enough cheese. Again a grease issue. It was fine though, not the best pizza I have ever had. We also go a thin crust style pepperoni pizza which has a thicker crust than a traditional thin crust style and if it was thinking of its self as tavern style it was wrong. But that pizza was better than the deep dish. Although the crust was like a stale bread. For an appetizer we got the mozzarella triangles. Because they were delivered they were not hot and they were not too good. Also thy came with 5.. which was annoying. Overall fine / average food.”
