  “Hours are very challenging. I think they should stay open a little later. People have to work and they don’t open early enough for us to go in the morning. People have to get to the hair shop by 9a and if we don’t get our products the night before it’s an inconvenience.”

  “First time coming in and it’s a pretty big store and seems to have lots of things you need for ur hair. Hair I got was decent quality. Only problem is the rollers I got are pretty bad. My hair got stuck in it them and I had to toss them”

  “I went in and ordered the whole line of basket lather, which was pretty pricey and it was fake. And when I say the manager or owner was so amazing. Returned it with no issues. Now that's how you do customer service”

  “I've been coming here for years. I purchased a defective ponytail on Friday. Monday I came in to exchange it. They didn't want to do so. Now I'm stuck with something I can't use. I will take me business elsewhere. They suck apples.”

  “I was recommended this beauty supply store to me as a place to find human braiding hair for a last-minute appointment. I purchased two packs of 18-inch pre-stretched curly human hair. When I got to my braiding appointment, my braider immediately pointed out that although the hair was labeled 18 inches, there were short 10-inch strands hidden underneath the longer ones. You can clearly see this in the photo I included. It was misleading and made it harder for her to work, making her pick through the bundles for the longer strands. I called the store before returning and asked if I could send a photo first since I do not live close by. At first, they gave me a hard time but eventually allowed me to send the picture. Once they saw it, they admitted it looked “weird” and told me to bring in my receipt. When I arrived at the store, the tone completely changed. There were two Asian men working, one older and one younger, who I believe are the managers. The energy was immediately tense. They dismissed my concern, said they check all the hair, and insisted it was not possible for the bundles to be like that. They told me to take it up with the manufacturer, even though I purchased the product from their store. When I calmly stood up for myself and questioned what they were implying, the younger man called me aggressive. That was incredibly offensive and felt racially charged. I was not yelling or being hostile. I was simply explaining what happened and asking for accountability. As a Black woman and someone who works in the hair industry, I know how common bad batches are and I know the difference between quality hair and a scam. Being labeled aggressive just for speaking up is something we face far too often. Eventually, they gave me a refund, but only after making me feel disrespected and blamed. Earlier on the phone, one of them also said, “We didn’t tell you to come all the way over here,” which was extremely rude. It should not matter where I came from. I was still a paying customer supporting their business. There are many other beauty supply stores in Los Angeles that treat customers with respect. I would not recommend this place to anyone.”

  “Braiding hair selection isn't big, so I am taking a star off, but they are huge and have everything you can imagine. Their customer service is good. Although, I am still looking for a place with a large selection of braiding hair(specifically anti-itch), I will be going here for everything else.”

  “Sisters I do not recommend CJ's they are taking money out of the neighborhood. they are rude they refuse to stand behind their merchandise and I do not suggest that you spend your money or give them any more of our black dollars”
