  “Our first time eating here and will not be back. Pulled pork was dry and flavorless. Buns were hard and had a best by date of 03/01/25. Today is 04/03/25. I called to complain and she told me that was the date the buns were made. Not true according to Flowers Foods website. Some of their products you can freeze up to 270 days. Doesn’t specify which products. I just know the buns we received weren’t eatable so my husband had to run to foodland to buy some. Which was a waste cause the bbq was too dry and flavorless to eat. I also noticed they don’t take kindly to negative reviews. This is a 100% honest review. I can’t comment on all their food but the pulled pork is just awful and definitely not worth the $60 I paid for the party pack. To the new owners. If you don’t like bad reviews, make better bbq. Cause your pulled pork tastes like you boil your meat instead of smoking it.”

  “The small burger is simple, thin, and delicious, with the bun lightly toasted. The zucchini fries are definitely worth a try! They're battered and fried to a crisp perfection. Dip those in ranch or their famous white sauce. You won't regret it. I also like their slaw dogs.”

  “Good news, a new owner has been located for this restaurant and the food is just as good. My review was accurate and I loved this place but due to the economy Russell closed his restaurant for good at 2pm on August 12th, 2022. It will be missed! Russell, the owner and cook, oversees everything and maintains quality and taste. Their BBQ Chicken is some of the best chicken around and often sells out. The BBQ is also very good as is their chili. Whether you get corn nuggets or fries as your side The South's Best BBQ is not only a name but a goal and remains one of the best BBQ restaurants in the Shoals area.”

  “I ordered the pork plate with baked beans and potatoe salad. It was not flavorful at all, I tolerated it but threw most of it away. Understanding there’s new management, maybe a good idea to flavor up the recipes. Also I noticed management will not refund you if your food doesn’t taste good at this establishment.”
