  “I went to Ming’s with my son and daughter in law, a week ago. We have always had great food. But nothing was good that we ate. Everything tasted “watered down.” Even the soup and chips were stale and lukewarm! The food was not hot, except for the egg rolls. Are they under new management?”

  “Visited about two weeks ago for the first time, and likely will not return. The atmosphere was very nostalgic, like the hole-in-the-wall buffets you visited as a kid with memorable dishes. The service was okay. The woman who took the to-go order was polite and said thank you, nothing out of the ordinary. I got takeout. A small egg drop soup and a dinner Beef and Broccoli. The soup was very good, not overly salty like other places, and I appreciated that they don't add yellow food coloring like many other restaurants. The beef tasted like it was only seasoned with pepper and fish sauce. The broccoli was steamed for so long it turned to mush when I bit into it, and was also seasonless. The rice was just plain steamed rice, was good with soy sauce. I'm not sure why so many Asian restaurants around Gardendale are skimping out on seasonings, but it's pushing me to go closer to Downtown the next time I am craving Chinese food, which won't be for a while.”

  “I haven't been here in a while but I'm glad I went back. My wife and I ordered the Happy Family and Sesame chicken and one egg roll. Happy Family was loaded with seafood and plenty of veggies with it. Sesame chicken was fried crispy and was great. Both dinners and egg roll with water to drink a little over $31.00 and we almost filled up a small go plate with leftovers. Will be going back soon!”

  “I don’t go to Ming’s for the atmosphere. I go because it is great food, the owners have always been fantastic, and that Hot & Sour soup is perfect with the weather is cold or you’re in need of some comfort. I love it. !! Be advised, there is no online ordering system attached to their business. The kwikmenu thing is not real!!”
