About Brunches
Brunches is a sandwich shop in York, at 15 Beckfield Ln, making hot and cold sandwiches and baps on soft bread rolls. The full English hot sandwich brings the full English breakfast into a roll, with bacon, sausage and tomato served alongside hash browns. A bacon, egg and tomato sandwich is also on the menu for a simpler cooked filling. Orders are placed at the till and counter inside the shop.

Customer Review Summary
Hot breakfast sandwiches draw the most comment, and opinion splits sharply. One reviewer adored the full English hot sandwich delivered while unwell, while another called the English breakfast a soggy mess, overcooked in places and undercooked in others. A third found the bacon rock hard and the Lincolnshire sausage vile, and a fourth called the sausages dreadful in an otherwise good large bacon, sausage and tomato roll with two hash browns. The bread roll or bun is praised even in the negative reviews. Elsewhere, a coronation chicken bap is described as generously filled with soft, fresh bread, and a jacket potato and fresh baklava also earn praise. Price is the recurring complaint. One reviewer saw the bacon, egg and tomato sandwich rise sharply and plans to buy elsewhere, and another expected higher quality meat for the cost, though one felt the portions justified the pricing. Staff at the till and a delivery driver are called lovely, and a choir group describes packed lunches clearly labeled and delivered at the agreed times for a second year.

“My first thought was "they seems to be on the more pricey side", but then I saw the portions they do in sandwitches, including mine. Worth it.”

“Oh my goodness, what an amazing experience! 🤩 The Jacket Potato was absolutely divine, truly the best I've had in ages! The baklava was so fresh and incredibly tasty too. And the staff at the till were just lovely! 🥰 Thank you for the freshest, most delicious food!”

“Not been in for a few months so thought I'd grab a sandwich. Last time I bought a bacon egg and tomato it cost £5.50. About right. Today same sandwich cost £7.40. Now I know the counter in the shops been moved but that pricing is for eating in town. Just prepare yourself if you order by phone and dont know the costs first. I'll be buying elsewhere. Way too expensive now. Lovely staff. Greedy owner.”

“Food is really good, but there was a man stood in the doorway between the front of shop and the kitchen with his arms crossed watching everyone work. Not only was he stood in the way of the girls trying to keep up with the sandwich orders but the way that he was looking at everyone was very unsettling. Even if he was the owner there is no need to make people feel like that in a work place.”

“It was just the price that put me off.. £9.80 for large bacon. sausage & tomato with two hash browns.. sausages were dreadful everything else was good, bread roll lovely.. The price I paid I would expect high quality meat. Staff great and a lovely clean spot.:”
