“Came for a couple of drinks with my partner on the busy bank holiday weekend but we were seated and looked after by the lovely members of staff straight away - Mads and the rest of the team did a fantastic job, remaining warm and attentive the entire night!”

“Went here on karaoke night, was not a single person there doing it everyone was just upstairs smoking and vaping. In the small rooftop bar. I guess just modern times but seems more needs doing to encourage people in for the events. On the plus side the drinks are nice.”

“This was our first visit, and we absolutely loved it! We sat on the terrace, which had a great atmosphere. We tried a mix of cocktails from the Happy Hour offer and the standard menu, and they were all fantastic. The staff were super attentive, friendly, and professional, making us feel really welcome. We’ll definitely be back!”

“The experience was amazing! This is one of our favorite bars in York. The security staff is always present, and the staff works quickly—drinks are served almost instantly. The cocktails are delicious and worth the money for me. There's a wide variety of cocktail menus to choose from, along with beer, drinks, and shisha. Personally, I love sitting by the dance floor—it's great for socializing and having fun. Before heading out to dance, we all go to the floor. Until the pub closes, cheers 🥂”

“Last night I had a fall, due to my invisible disability, after spending an hour or two in this establishment. One of the waitresses/bar staff rushed to my aid and made me feel seen, understood and at ease. For a bar full of stairs I’m so relieved to see such inclusivity.”

“What a great little find! Wonderful cocktails at 2 for £12, perfect! And yes, the cocktails were fab! No cheap mixers, properly made cocktails served by a lovely young man. The hour we had here at the start of the evening was a perfect start to the night. It could easily be a good ending to your night too as they are open til I think he said 3am!”

“10/04/2026 BURNT SHISHA DON'T WASTE £20 To begin with, the service was absolutely diabolical, and most of the staff upstairs were extremely rude. I visited with friends and asked if there were any outdoor tables. We were told there was a wait, so we sat down. Around five minutes later, I checked how many people were ahead of us and was told just one group. The staff member also asked if we wanted shisha, and I said “I think so, yes.” At no point did she, or anyone else, mention that ordering shisha was required to sit outside, which should have been made clear from the start. We were eventually seated outside with our drinks, but shortly after, a staff member returned and asked if we were paying for shisha. By then, we had changed our minds and said no, only to be told we’d have to move back inside as others were waiting for shisha tables. I went inside to explain that this policy hadn’t been communicated, but instead of resolving it, I was met with a rude and dismissive response and was effectively called a liar by an aggressive bartender. The only positive was one friendly staff member with ginger hair. In the end, we felt pressured into ordering shisha just to remain outside. Unfortunately, it was poor, burnt and lacking flavour. When we raised this, the manager dismissed it by blaming vaping (only one of us vaped), he took it away and brought it back claiming it was fixed🧞‍♂️, but it tasted exactly the same. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience, with poor communication and unprofessional staff Anyway if you would like shisha that actually has FLAVOUR, go to Yemen heaven!”
