About The Cheshire Smokehouse
The Cheshire Smokehouse is a deli in Wilmslow that has cured and smoked food for over a century, using methods handed down through generations. The business has grown beyond the smokehouse to include its own butchery, an artisan bakery and a wines and spirits department. Meat and bread are prepared in house, with smoked chicken and Stornoway black pudding from the butchery and Italian ciabatta among the freshly baked breads. Shelves also carry Italian pasta, fresh vegetables and food from around the world, with hundreds of products to choose from. The shop is open Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the fresh produce and in-house butchery and bakery, with the Italian ciabatta, the scotch eggs and the award winning bacon named as favourites. Others single out smoked chicken, the home produced porkies, Stornoway black pudding, real Italian pasta and beautiful cakes. One diner who came for the sharing platter says staff went to great effort over a nut and shellfish allergy and brought brisket out for the dog. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly and smiling, and one reviewer bought a birthday hamper that delighted the recipient. The recurring trade-off is cost, with several calling it not cheap but in line with the quality. The cafe is a second complaint, as two reviewers note it is gone and one wishes it would return. One reviewer, a 77 year old who travelled a long way, was refused use of a toilet at the tills and left without shopping.

“Having travelled quite a distance to shop there, and being highly recommended, I couldn't get my shopping as needed the toilet desperately when I got there. (Im 77 years old) Despite my desperate plea all got from the young woman at the tills was sorry but couldn't help me. Bearing in mind the facility is in an isolated setting, miles from anywhere i could have alternatively used. Thought they had a cafe but no sign of one..”
