Customer Review Summary

Tacos draw the most mentions, with fish and pastor singled out alongside tostadas (tinga and cochinita), quesadillas and churros. Reviewers repeatedly describe the portions as huge or large enough that mains were hard to finish. Some call the food authentic, while one says it is very well executed but would not call it authentic. Cocktails come close behind, with a cherry bakewell cocktail, mezcal, piña colada and watermelon water named, and one reviewer liked the mix of Mexican beers. Staff are described as friendly and welcoming, and one diner appreciated that the service charge was optional. The recurring complaint is slow eat-in service. One diner links it to the focus on takeaways, and another calls it poor and disorderly with no manager present. One reviewer found the food bland, another notes a funky smell downstairs, and one mentions toilets up a steep staircase. One lunch visitor describes staff apologising but still serving people who walked in just after closing.

“Felt the food and service was all quite average sadly. Nothing stood out taste wise and the food was quite bland, we have had much better food elsewhere. Service was fairly poor and disorderly too and it felt like the restaurant was lacking the presence of a manager on the night that we visited.”

“Wow, what a lovely, friendly restaurant. A group of us were heading to an evening event in Ware and needed to eat ahead of time and I picked this place from every eatery available in the area. We fancied something different. It was a perfect choice. Staff were friendly and welcoming, the menu and drinks choices were great, decor was fun, clean and bright. Food was tasty and satisfying filling, good portion sizes. The cocktails were equally satisfying, and different to your usual run of the mill choices. The cherry bakewell was our favourite. There was seating inside and outside, and they offer take away as well as eat in. The only downside, the toilets are up a steep stair case. A little gem of a restaurant when you fancy something different from your normal pub grub or pizzas.”

“I recently visited this Mexican street food restaurant, and it was a really lovely experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere had a great vibe, and the prices were very reasonable. The service was a bit slow at times, but the staff were genuinely friendly, which made up for it. One thing I really appreciated was how they handled the bill. The service charge was optional, with clear choices to remove it if you wanted. That’s not something you see very often, and it felt very fair. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and would happily recommend this place to others.”

“Food is great & authentic - personally I prefer their burritos to the original ones in Mexico! Love the vibe as well with mostly contemporary Spanish tunes playing that make you feel like you’re in Mexico. The outdoors area is very pretty too and perfect in spring/summer. Their drinks are soo good from the watermelon water to the piña colada. Just a great place to go, recommended!”

“Nice place with great food. We had a mix of tacos (Fish Taco and Pastor), tostadas (Tinga and Cochinita) and quesadillas (Pastor and Carne Asada). Flavours are very good. I wouldn't call it authentic but it's very well executed. Nice mix of Mexican beers (Pacifico, Modelo and Corona). The only thing we didn't like was the downstairs floor. There was a funky smell, after a while you get used to it but isn't great, once that gets sorted it's a 5 star place.”
