“19 of us had a wonderful birthday lunch here recently. We were looked after beautifully by the delightful staff. All our guests very much enjoyed the food, wine and atmosphere. As hosts, we could just chill and enjoy it too, as we were taken such very good care of. Can thoroughly recomend for any occasion. Thank you !e Clos.”

“Absolutely delicious food and wine. The service was fantastic. And excellent Gluten Free options - the tarte flambee could all be made gluten free and were incredible! Everything else on the menu is was naturally gluten free and they provided gluten free bread. Would 100% recommend to everyone - gluten free or not!”

“There’s a certain boldness required to present U Saveurs duck rillettes from Super U—retailing at roughly £2.50 a jar—as a £15.95 dish. In this case, the boldness extended to serving it in the original retail container, label fully intact, as though the idea of plating had been considered and then quietly abandoned. When questioned, the explanation offered was that “we don’t have a kitchen.” Fair enough—but the pricing suggests otherwise, and the gentleman behind the bar appeared fully aware of the disparity. Charging restaurant-level prices for what is, in effect, an assembled picnic does not feel accidental. The accompaniments did little to improve matters: a spoonful of overly sweet chutney that overwhelmed everything it touched, a few uninspiring cornichons lacking any real sharpness, and some serviceable bread. There is nothing inherently wrong with U Saveurs rillettes—they are perfectly acceptable supermarket fare. But that is precisely the point. This was not a dish in any meaningful sense, nor even a considered assembly, but simply supermarket food opened and served with minimal intervention, bearing little resemblance to properly made, homemade rillettes. A shame, as properly made rillettes are one of the more satisfying expressions of French cooking. One wouldn’t object to this as a casual picnic—indeed, the nearby Waitrose could supply comparable or better provisions for consumption by the river. The difficulty arises when the experience is priced and presented as something more, while offering little beyond the contents of a jar. An honest concept might work here—the wines were good and fairly priced. At £15.95 for opened retail goods, and £33.95 for a charcuterie board, it does not”

“We always love coming for lunch or dinner (and the fabulous wines!) but it was our first experience of takeaway raclette - absolutely fabulous and highly recommended. We did it for 12 people and it really elevated a very convivial evening. Thank you Stephane, we all enjoyed it so much!”
