  “Suprisenly good last minute visit to the restaurant. Didn't stay in hotel so cannot comment. Food was pretty decent and service was excellent, the kids menu was varied and well priced. Our bill was £70 for 5 of us”

  “First visit to Smith & Western and we will definitely be back! Food was incredible; tasty, cooked to perfection and plentiful. Had a wonderful welcome at the door, followed but great service by Charles who was friendly, attentive and a laugh- a credit to the team, thank you Charles! All of the team were helpful & wore a smile- rare to see these days! 100% recommend the bully buster if you’re feeling brave enough for dessert! Looking forward to coming back donning our cowboy hats, thank you Smith & Western!”

  “We came as a family of 4 for my daughters 8th birthday meal. Sophia was our host and made us feel very welcome. She also gave special treatment to my daughter for her birthday which included a complimentary cowboy hat. Also she gave my other daughter a hat so she wasn't left out which was a lovely touch. The food was incredibly tasty and was very fresh. The music was great and was very fitting with the country theme. All staff gathered to sing Happy Birthday to my daughter and made a big fuss with a huge brownie sundae with a big sparkler candle. We had a lovely experience and was well worth the 50 minute drive to the restaurant. Thank you”

  “We returned for our 3rd stay May Bank Holiday, this time bringing 2 friends. Both rooms were just as good as before. Were were served in the restaurant by Jen and Carys who were both just great & looked after us very well again. We chose some different cocktails this time and they went down very well. The Coronarita is very good. All the meals we chose arrived quicky and together and was very tasty. We got to sit out on the 'front porch' one afternoon in the sun and it was just like sitting in America with some great music playing in the background. We cant wait to visit again.”

  “A simply beautiful place with a character! Beautiful interior design!There is so much detail. Lovely and relaxing atmosphere. Our evening meal was lovely. It was well cooked. My husband had a steak and I had chicken fajitas . It was simply delicious! A very friendly and helpful waiter served us.We did not catch his name. He's been with the company for 6 years. He is a great asset to Smith&Western! We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. It was a very pleasant stay.The hotel is beautiful inside and outside. Lovely and clean rooms with beautiful interior decor. Very cosy.Lots of character! Beautiful gardens outside.I highly recommend this place . Good value for money!.. Unfortunately, we were not sure about our breakfasts . Full ranchers breakfast did not taste great. Mushrooms and bacon were overcooked and greasy. A toast was overcooked, too. A grumpy waitress served us, she was the matter of fact. She did not sound friendly at all. As if she did not want to be there.. The next day we decided to try pancakes for breakfast. The pancakes were beautifully presented. But they did not taste special, they were tasteless , too thick and too big. We only ordered 5 each.. We only managed to eat 1 each. It would be a good idea to have a picture of them on a menu, so that people can see what they order. It's a pity that a waiter did not warn us about how big these pancakes are. A waiter was friendly and chatty this time . I think he was Greek.. Apart from our breakfasts and a grumpy waitress, our experience was great and we will definitely be back again.”

  “I recently visited Smith & Western in Tunbridge Wells with three friends after hearing positive recommendations, so we were really looking forward to our meal. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing overall. Our food arrived extremely quickly, even before our drinks, which immediately made us question whether it had been freshly prepared. Sadly, this concern seemed justified, as the meals were lukewarm and did not appear to be cooked properly. My jacket potato, in particular, was clearly not fresh it was brown inside, hard, and seemed old. The portion sizes also appeared inconsistent, as two of my friends ordered the same meal with fries, yet the portions were noticeably different. My piña colada was also very underwhelming, consisting mostly of cream with very little flavour, accompanied only by a dry piece of pineapple on the side. Given the prices charged, we had expected a much higher standard in both food and drink quality. We also noticed issues with cleanliness, particularly in the ladies’ toilets, where one of the two cubicles was unclean. That said, I would like to acknowledge a positive aspect of our visit: it was genuinely lovely to see Smith & Western providing employment opportunities for young people. Supporting young staff in developing confidence, customer service skills, and workplace experience is commendable and something the business should be proud of. We did raise our concerns with the manageress at the time, and she was polite and apologetic, which we appreciated. Overall, while there were positive elements in terms of staff opportunities and customer service from management, the quality, consistency, and freshness of the food, along with general cleanliness, fell below expectations. When dining out, particularly at these price points, customers rightly expect food safety, proper preparation, and a clean environment. I hope these issues were an isolated experience and that improvements are made, particularly in kitchen standards, food preparation, and attention to detail.”

  “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you’re looking for good hearty food, decent portions, and prices that don’t make your eyes water… this is definitely worth a visit. We didn’t go expecting fine dining or anything fancy, and that’s exactly why we enjoyed it. Proper American-style comfort food done well. The burger was solid, the prawns were tasty, the buffalo wings hit the spot, and the Oreo brownie sundae was honestly the highlight… unreal. Big shoutout to our waiter Dan as well. Great customer service from start to finish, friendly, attentive, and just made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Sometimes you just want a relaxed meal, good portions, good service, and to leave feeling full without needing a small loan afterwards 😂 If that sounds like your kind of place… Smith and Weston is well worth it.”

  “We came for a family dinner aa a treat for our daughters 11th Birthday. She throughly enjoyed herself with the cowgirl hat and the belly buster. Our server Nicky was the most incredibly attentive host. Out other daughter was really struggling with the noise so she had the music turned down alittle which was a huge help. This lady was just so kind. She made sure that the Birthday girl got all she needed to make it a special night and that the rest of us were also looked after.”

  “Awesome atmosphere from when you first see the building to leaving the venue. We stayed the night and had dinner there. The service was fantastic and the value for money was also good. They offer 20% discount for people that stay the night. Our bill came to £95 for the 2 of us including a birthday belly buster with a sparkler and a song! lol. (not including tip) cocktails were very nice too. Highly reccomend!”
