About The New Inn
Bed and breakfast rooms sit above the bar at The New Inn, a village pub on the B4343 in Tregaron, giving visitors a place to stay alongside a plentiful breakfast in the morning. The pub has been run by the same landlady for decades, and regulars treat it as a community hub. There is always a traditional real beer on tap, poured alongside local ales, with crisps and other bar snacks at the counter. The kitchen cooks fresh, with home-cooked dishes built on local produce. Welsh is spoken by the locals and the staff, and anyone attempting a few words gets encouragement rather than correction. The bar itself is small and grows cramped when the room fills. Dogs are welcome, and the doors open daily.

Customer Review Summary
The warmth of the welcome, credited again and again to the landlady, is what reviewers put first: friendly, professional, and long established, with several first time visitors and non Welsh speakers describing being made to feel at home, one noting they were gently supported and laughed at while attempting Welsh. Close behind is the drink, a trad beer always on tap, local ales with an evening meal, and more than one reviewer mentioning the crisps alongside a quick pint. Overnight guests describe comfy, clean, spacious rooms and a plentiful breakfast with local produce, and lunch visitors say the food arrived freshly cooked. Others single out the atmosphere and the small dog friendly beer garden at the back, calling the place a community hub. Two caveats surface: one regular finds it cramped when busy, and one reviewer recounts booking a double room months ahead with no written confirmation and no deposit taken, only to be told days before arrival that the arrangement had changed.

“A great local pub with a fantastic atmosphere. We didn't eat but the food on offer looked good. A small, dog-friendly beer garden at the back and everything you could want from a pub.”

“Can't comment on food. I can comment on the wonderful lady who seems to be in charge. She's great. Good atmosphere, always a good atmosphere. It's a bit cramped when busy, that's the only downside. And when I finally tried some Welsh in there, I was supported (and laughed at). A very fine little pub. Nowt fancy. Solid. Good booze selection. Fancy crisps!”
