About Pythouse Kitchen Garden
Set in an 18th century walled garden in South Wiltshire, Pythouse Kitchen Garden is a restaurant in Tisbury on West Hatch. It is home to the cooks and gardeners of Sprigs Co., and much of the produce on the plates is grown in the garden itself. The seasonal menu uses locally sourced ingredients, and the fire in the kitchen adds smoke to the cooking. A tapas-style menu runs alongside a set menu, and a roast is served at lunch. Meals are eaten in a conservatory dining space, and guests can walk the gardens afterwards. The garden is also home to Sprigster Drinks, a range of botanical infusions inspired by it, and non-alcoholic drinks are offered. The site hosts weddings too, with a glamping area for those staying on. Reservations are required.

Customer Review Summary
Weddings are the most frequent draw, with couples describing a smooth weekend, a team that handled every small request, and guests praising the canapés as the best they had ever had at a wedding. The glamping area and the walled gardens also get mentions. Close behind are everyday lunches, where diners praise fresh, seasonal dishes, a roast, non-alcoholic drinks full of flavour, and a wander through the gardens afterwards to see where the produce is grown. Several return for the seasonal menus and imaginative dishes, and one calls the food different to the norm. The one recurring caveat is pace. A reviewer who chose the tapas style says food arrived within minutes of ordering, so they reached dessert in about an hour, and that was too quick for a long special-occasion lunch. The same reviewer suggests the set menu for a longer meal and notes the conservatory was hot, though fans helped. Others describe service as kind and calm, including with a baby, and one lunch marked a late father's birthday.

“We had our wedding at Pythouse Kitchen Garden and genuinely couldn’t have wished for a more perfect venue or a more wonderful team. From beginning to end, everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and accommodating, and they made us and all of our guests feel so well looked after. The food was absolutely amazing, locally sourced from the area and the gardens, which themselves are unbelievably beautiful. It really is such a special and unique place. We feel incredibly lucky that we were able to celebrate our wedding there! A particular thank you has to go to Laura, who was absolutely wonderful throughout the whole process. She was so generous with her time, endlessly helpful and reassuring and made planning everything feel so easy. We always felt we were in safe hands and nothing ever seemed like too much trouble. We are so incredibly grateful to Laura and the entire Pythouse team for all the care and effort that went into making our day so special. It was everything we could have hoped for and more - we’ll always have such happy memories of Pythouse Kitchen Garden. Thank you all so much, we really couldn’t recommend you highly enough! ❤️”

“We had the joy of having our wedding at Pythouse this July and it was magical! The space is utterly glorious, the food is beyond delicious, the drinks were spot-on and the glamping area is beautiful. The entire team, particularly Marina and both Lauras, make it their mission to ensure you have the most relaxed wonderful day, because they run everything so smoothly you literally don’t have to worry about a thing. The entire way through the planning process the Pythouse team are responsive, excited and really go above and beyond to make all of your little ideas a reality. Pythouse Kitchen Gardens is a truly special spot, centred in nature, joy and glorious food – thank you for making our wedding weekend better than we ever could have imagined!”

“The food was really tasty and very fresh and the service was excellent. My only criticism would be that it was actually a little bit fast. The food came within 10 minutes of ordering so we were on desserts within an hour, usually I wouldn’t complain about this but we went for a special occasion, so I wanted a long lunch. Perhaps we should have gone for the set menu and had starters and mains as opposed to going for the tapas style but we wanted to try lots of things. Anyway, if you want to go for a long boozy lunch, get the menu. The meal was quite reasonably priced, they are dog friendly, which is great, and the staff are very nice. It was pretty hot in the conservatory but they had fans and there was some airflow so it’s wasn’t unbearable, they’re doing their best considering the weather.”
