About Yorks Of Thirsk
Yorks Of Thirsk is a cafe and breakfast restaurant in Thirsk, based at The Old Post Office. The kitchen centres on home cooked chips finished with crumbled Wensleydale cheese, truffle dust and oregano, which turns a simple side into a dish of its own. Mornings are covered by a home cooked Yorkshire breakfast. Later in the day, the tea room side of the menu takes over with sandwiches and lunch dishes, including a Red Leicester and Onion quiche. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints centre on service and value. One reviewer found the staff rude and the sandwich average, feeling like an inconvenience for asking what was on offer. Another received a completely wrong sandwich and was made to pay for it, then waited about as long again for a replacement after being told they should have said something. A third thought a breakfast of two eggs on toast with mushrooms and a coffee was far too expensive, though they called it very nice.

“Very pretty tea room but just incredibly rude service and average food. I came for a sandwich before catching the train and I felt like I was causing them an inconvenience by ordering and asking a question about what they had on offer. Staff couldn’t really care. Food just really average and in a town with multiple competitors, I’d just go somewhere else like Plenty instead for a sandwich to go. I couldn’t really care about the food, it’s a sandwich but have a little pride in serving customers, it’s not difficult to be nice.”

“Do not go here.......ordered a sandwich and chips. My order was completely wrong and then they made me pay for it. I didn't eat any of jt. Absolutely shockingly disgusting. They told me I should have said something. Yes OK then wait for 20 mins for another sandwich by which point everyone else has finished. 15 quid for a can of coke......cheers guys for ripping me off.”

“Very nice but £16.25 for two eggs on two pieces of toast, mushrooms and a coffee is way too much!”

“Popped in for a spot of lunch. They were busy but we were acknowledged straight away and presented with menu’s. The Red Leicester and Onion Quiche was lovely as was my husband’s Ham and and Free Range Eggs dish. Will definitely pop in again when we are in the area 5* all round”
