  “Friendly characterful local. Staff were super nice to our group with babies and made a plan to help us get a seat despite not having a reservation. Menu had plenty of pub classics and some specials too.”

  “Visited this pub as had good reviews very disappointed advertised as dog friendly the beer garden gate was closed staff wouldn’t allow us to just. Walk through with our small well behaved dog was forced to sit at the front the smokers area tables covered with filthy ashtrays repulsive for non smokers a couple dog bowls filled with old leaves and stagnant water fine if you don’t want dogs but do not advertise as being dog friendly would give minus 5 stars if I could”

  “It was honestly perfect. I've been looking for an English Pub experience since I got here and it checked all the boxes. The service was so good, everyone was so friendly and kind. The food was amazing. A gem in Thetford Thank you :)”

  “Was very pleasantly surprised and impressed with the quality and price of the food at the black horse . I had the special flank steak and mango salad, my partner had pie of the day with mash and veg. Both were cooked perfectly tasted lovely and for two mains and 2 drinks came in at under £40 being an ex chef I recommend this restaurant without hesitation.”

  “Went to watch England match and eat. Warm welcome. Great choice of beers. Delicious food at a good price. They've gone to town on the football but we were able to find a quieter spot. Fantastic pub!!!!”

  “We had a work leaving lunch here this afternoon with a group of 20, and it was fantastic from start to finish. We sat out on the back patio in the lovely beer garden, which made it even more enjoyable in the sunshine. The food and service were genuinely 10/10 as always. Every single meal came out hot & at the same time, which is impressive for such a large group — no one was left waiting at all. The staff were brilliant too, really friendly and good fun! As always, we had a great time and couldn’t fault a thing. Highly recommend and will be using for future big gatherings!”

  “Firstly the staff. Always so welcoming and attentive. Secondly the atmosphere is great. This is the first time I've tried their food and I was happy I did. Portion size was great ( I didn't manage to finish it) the food tasty and in my case the burger was made in-house The only niggle was the onion rings were cold but that may be because we were sitting outside. Can't recommend the place enough.”

  “We were staying local for the weekend, so we had a look for a homecooked traditional pub for Sunday lunch. Thankfully, we found this gem! Our lunch was delicious! All cooked to perfection, very hot, served quickly, and a fantastic sized portion. We were made to feel welcome the second we arrived and our waitress was lovely. Would highly recommend 👌”

  “Super nice service ! Staff was very friendly ☺️ I like that. Lovely spacious beer garden perfect for sunny days. Great for family gatherings and friends time. I will update it with more pictures and videos in future. Food was lovely it filled me up. I had lasagna and it was delicious. Will definitely recommend and go back again.”

  “we’ve come here for dinner tonight and we are bowled over by how lovely it is here! you wouldn’t expect it upon seeing the front, but there is a beautiful beer garden out the back with little huts for hire and it is such a scenic experience! our waitresses were beautiful and polite, the food was cooked to perfection, and they had a vegan menu with variety which makes a change from the usual falafel and hummus! everything was well priced, overall a gorgeous pub which we will be returning to soon! 🤍”
