Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the bottomless brunch and the cocktails, with the two-for-one cocktail offer mentioned at weekends. Praise centres on individual servers described as helpful, polite and kind, including one who fixed a voucher problem quickly and others who looked after birthday and anniversary meals. Food draws a quieter response: one diner enjoyed shredded chicken, prawns and a smothered chicken main, and another found the brunch food good value. Complaints are sharper. One hen party reports a long wait for drinks during a timed bottomless brunch, then a friend being refused service for intoxication after two drinks. Another reviewer describes a burger order that came back dry and tasting stale after an eye-roll from the waiter. A third says a bar manager could not recommend cocktails, that six cocktails took a long time to arrive, and that the popcorn cocktail came with an empty basket described as just for aesthetics. One suggests reserving ahead for Saturdays, while Sundays are described as tranquil. The zero alcohol lager is called expensive.

“I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Slug & Lettuce during my friend’s sister’s hen do. The service was very slow throughout the event. At one point, we waited around 45 minutes for drinks, which is particularly frustrating when you have paid for a bottomless brunch with a limited time slot. My friend raised concerns about the wait, as she was trying to order drinks for her sister, whose hen do it was, and their mother. Shortly afterwards, she was refused service because staff believed she was too intoxicated. However, she had only consumed two drinks and was not behaving in a disruptive or intoxicated manner. From our perspective, she was simply frustrated by the lengthy wait and was trying to ensure everyone in the group received their drinks. I do want to mention that the blonde waitress who was bringing our drinks was absolutely lovely. She was friendly, polite and helpful throughout the afternoon despite how busy it was. The curly-haired girl working behind the bar was also really nice, professional and pleasant whenever we interacted with her. Unfortunately, the way the situation with my friend was handled by other staff members felt unprofessional and unfair. Being refused service after paying for a bottomless brunch, despite only having had two drinks, left our group feeling embarrassed and upset during what should have been a special celebration. Overall, while some members of staff were fantastic, the poor service times and the decision to refuse service to my friend put a dampener on what should have been an enjoyable hen party.”

“Visited slug and lettuce for the first time on Halloween night at aprox 8pm for a few drinks after work with some colleagues. The lady that appeared to be bar manger was unable to recommend and cocktails (2 for 1 were only on for the same type of cocktail) after ordering I asked would they be bough to the table to which the replay was “there’s no table service you must wait” Proceeded to wait 15 minutes for 6 cocktails as she had to keep referring to the cocktail spec sheets (which didn’t taste quite right either) and I had to keep going back and forth taking drinks to my table. Upon ordering the cocktail that comes with popcorn I was not inform that they had ran out of popcorn instead was presented with an empty popcorn basket and told it was just for aesthetics. Prices were also on the pricier side however the atmosphere and decor were lovely. The untrained and rude staff have put me off from retuning again.”
