  “The service was incredible. Food wasn’t amazing but the staff absolutely made our day. The roast was fab but the pudding could have been better. I’ve been to a few different toby’s over that last year and this one definitely stands out between Gloucester and Carmarthen and I think a couple others the service here is second to none. Everyone from the front of house to the carver was amazing and didn’t rush us at all. We were very very pleased with every member of staff we spoke to. All smiling and all happy to see you. You don’t get that in many places anymore!!”

  “We booked this venue for a wedding and opted for the buffet option, and we couldn’t have been happier with everything. Everyone was extremely helpful from start to finish, especially with getting everything set up. They were also regularly checking in with us throughout the afternoon to make sure everything was going smoothly and that we were happy. The whole team were friendly, attentive and accommodating, which made the day feel so much easier and more enjoyable. We’re very happy with the service we received and would definitely recommend them!”

  “Starting from the staff that has been very friendly, professional and attentive. Carvery side had a lovely lady chef, absolutely brilliant and very friendly that makes you feeling home. The blonde lady manager/assistant manager, was absolutely brilliant and attentive. About food I can say this has been one of the best Toby's carvery, meat was nice and juicy, veggies was very tasty, roast potatoes crispy outside and mushy inside, and top notch the onion in gravy that you can't really find in others. Overall has a 10/10 for me about food, staff and cleaning. Highly recommend as an ex General Manager in catering and restaurants.”

  “We've been a few times, mfor breakfast and a carvery and all times it been great. The breakfasts have everything a full English should have plus breakfast Yorkshire puds and breakfast gravy. The quality was great and it was all well cooked. The carvery was amazing 4 different meats all the trimmings and you go back up for veg should you need to. The roasties are good the meats are well cooked and it's all great value.”

  “I'm a lover of Sunday Roasts and all you can eats, Toby Carvery delivers on boths. This as well with the good prices for the amount you receive is a great reason to keep coming back. Prices do change depending on weekdays to weekends or bank holidays, same with how busy it can get, recommend booking just in case, sometimes deals on the app too. Cockleshell is also one of the better Toby Carverys I've visited, responsive service and better quality food, freshly cooked rather than feeling like leftovers of a couple I've been too. Only real issue I can point out is the refillables, hit or miss really, sometimes the syrup is spot on, othertimes its running out or the machine is broken. There is alternatively the bar so you do have a secondary option there, which is good. If you live jn the area or passing by and want a classic style Carvery, I couldn't recommend strongly enough, it's me and my missus go to restaurant for great food for good price.”

  “Food was excellent, got served plenty of beef and veg was delicious. Atmosphere was good, not too loud and easy to have a conversation. To top it all off I had brilliant service. It was Giovanni Coppola who was taking my order and helping out today and I have to say he is a top waiter. Giovanni’s friendly, takes the orders well, and an all round great person.”

  “Decent place for a Sunday roast with large portion sizes and veg. Been twice and love the Roast Beef and Lamb. Roasted Veg and Potatoes are great but the boiled veg not for me. Beef dripping potaos are the best option. Also, got a pint of cider but its better to go for the refillable fountain soft drink option. The Sundae is also a nice treat for dessert. Great place for family and friends, but best to book as its bussy on weekends as expected. Service was great too, Welsh hospitality is very welcoming Over all very good value for money.”
