  “We stopped here for dinner for a family of five plus dog. We were attracted by the menu and we weren't disappointed. The charcoal grill was used to produce lovely food. Friendly service and centrally located.”

  “We went twice in 2 days for lunch and then dinner-say no more!! Delicious food, familiar favourites on offer with a mix of Turkish food too :) Very popular pub, friendly attentive staff and outdoor seating area at the back. Dog friendly too. Quickly has become a favourite of ours in Swanage-Thankyou!”

  “Excellent… massive comfy room! We were only here for one night but highly recommended. Our host Barlow checked us in and had drinks waiting on the bar for us once we had dropped our bags. Housekeeper Claire had the room presented perfectly. Thank you!”

  “Just off the high street and a gem of a local pub with a small restaurant at the end of pub, so we went in what I call the public bar the locals were very engaging and the bar staff were very friendly too. We had a drink and grilled chicken which was done perfectly with a side of chips and salad plus dips all of which was lovely. Big garden area split on both sides of drive. Small car park at the the top. Very dog friendly. I hope to return before holiday ends.”

  “We haven't had a Sunday roast for years but saw the board advertising it on Institute Road and thought "why not?". It was terrific, everything a Sunday roast should be, tender succulent ham and beef, crispy toasties and way too many vegetables! Plus cauli cheese! Yorkshire puddings and gravy - who could ask for more. Highly recommended!”

  “We visited the Red Lion in Swanage for a family meal today and was Immediately made to feel at home. We found ourselves at a lovely table straight away, with a menu that had lots to offer. Turk is a fantastic host and brilliant with my young family, the food was amazing, the setting fantastic. Unfortunately going home tomorrow but back in October and will definitely be visiting the Red Lion again. I would highly recomend, it will not dissapoint!”

  “Lovely friendly pub, great food. Good location in central Swanage. Free parking. I Stayed in the single room which was very small and compact. It was clean and comfortable, but some upgrade needed. Internet didn’t reach from the pub. Bathroom was a decent size. Expensive for what you got. A discount on meals in the pub would have been a nice gesture.”
