Quick info
About Ranches Sunderland
Ranches Sunderland is an American restaurant and grill-house at 23 Caithness Rd in Sunderland, built around burgers. The menu puts a parmo, including a hot parmo, beside the grill dishes, so the choice is wider than burgers alone. The Kentucky King chicken burger meal is one of the named burgers, and funky fries are ordered as a side, with dips served separately. Hot dogs and desserts fill out the rest of the menu. Food is cooked fresh, which means a wait for it to arrive. Orders are taken by phone.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers draw the most praise, with reviewers naming the Highway Burger, the Ranches burger, the Kentucky King chicken burger and the All Stars burger. One describes the Highway Burger as juicy with a soft, fresh bun and an egg cooked to perfection, while another calls the chicken in the burgers soft and melty. Portions are repeatedly described as huge or massive, and several note the food arrived fresh and hot. Close behind are the hot parmo and the funky fries, with a Texas BBQ dip on the side, and children happily ate Nutella covered doughnuts. The caveats are small. One reviewer wanted more flavour from the All Stars burger and found too much bun, another mentions a bit of a wait for food, and one had a problem with some chips that was sorted straight away after a phone call. Staff are often called friendly, lovely and smiley, and one family recalls the team playing the Peppa Pig theme tune after a niece named it as her favourite song.

“Came here for the first time after my sister recommended it. I tried the hot parmo with a side of "funky fries", and oh my goodness... it was delicious! My niece and nephew happily devoured their nutella covered doughnuts and we all will very happily be returning for our spontanios takeaway nights! The staff went above and beyond! They asked my niece what her favourite song is after hearing "peppa pig", the staff began playing the peppa pig theme tune - my niece was thrilled! 10 out of 10! Delicious! Amazing staff! Highly recommend!”

“Excellent service from start to finish. From the person answering the phone, to the manager accepting the order, to the kitchen making the banging food and the delivery driver dropping it off hot and being efficient. I apologise for ordering at 10pm but not once did they show they didn’t care or were rude for me ordering when they were closing. 10/10 service thank you for everyone involved and I will be recommending to everyone and ordering again.”

“I recently visited Ranches Sunderland and tried the Highway Burger, and it was honestly one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. The soft, fresh bun perfectly complemented the juicy, flavorful beef patty. The egg was cooked to perfection, adding a rich and creamy texture that brought everything together beautifully. Every ingredient worked in harmony, creating a balanced combination of flavors and textures in every bite. The burger was packed with taste without feeling overwhelming, and you could tell it was made with quality ingredients. If you’re a burger lover, the Highway Burger is definitely worth trying. I’ll certainly be back for another one!”
