  “My wife loves fish and chips, and she had it at several places on our trip to Scotland. This place was by far her favorite! I had a meat pie that was also very tasty.”

  “They run a rubbish phone in service, I walked in at 5:10 ordered my food but was then told after I would have to wait till 5:55 for the next time slot!?!? First time in 43years I’ve ever heard such garbage in a chip shop!!! I was then told if my order was early they would call me over, that was fine till 5:55 came and went while I stood there watching them shove order after order In their “warmer” and call names for people that aren’t even there! Eventually they call my name at 6:10 and I watched them pull my order out the “warmer” that I seen them shove in there 10mins before 👎🏻 got home and opened the bag to find they got half the order wrong and it was all stone cold! I’m done with them, church street from now on, they operate like every other chippy on the planet on a first come first serve basis and call you as soon as it’s ready so it’s fresh and most importantly still hot!!!”

  “I've been here a few times while visiting Stornoway, locals recommended it to us. On my latest trip we went twice, the Haddock was lovely, chips nice and not greasy. The first time we went, they didn't have curry sauce, second time they did, we paid for it but they forgot to put it in the bag hence 4 not 5 stars. Tried battered oreos for the first time, they were great and the salt and pepper squid was very tasty. When they are busy, best to double check your order before you leave.”

  “Camerons Chip Shop – Stornoway ⭐️⭐️ 2/5 Date - 22 Aug 2025 We ordered one large and one small fish and chips. At first glance, the portions looked generous with plenty of chips. Unfortunately, the taste didn’t live up to expectations. The fish itself was salty, very dry, and had a powdery texture. The batter was dark, hard, and gave the impression it had been overcooked or perhaps fried more than once. Strangely, despite being overdone, the whole meal still tasted very oily. The chips were on similar par, possibly double cooked? Service was equally disappointing. I was called forward by a young staff member with a stern “NEXT” – no please, no smile, and no welcoming manner. It all felt very rushed, so there wasn’t much atmosphere to speak of either. Overall, being in a fishing town, I expected far better quality and fresher-tasting fish. Sadly, both the food and the service fell short.”
