Quick info
About Bun & Bones Club
Bun & Bones Club is an American restaurant at 162 London Rd in Stockport, serving smash burgers and wings from inside the Dr Feelgood bar, facing the market hall. Burgers carry names on the menu, including the Pontiac Bandit and Scarface, and a rotating weekly special is announced on the kitchen's Instagram page. Chilli cheese fries come with a choice of toppings. Because the kitchen shares the bar, drinks are on hand from the same room, with Tiny Rebel and Beavertown craft beers on draft and a range of rums. Live music plays in the space. Dogs are welcome.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers are the draw, with reviewers repeatedly calling them the best they have had and singling out the Pontiac Bandit, topped with peanut butter and chilli jam, along with the Scarface, the Hans Seoul-O and a doughnut-bun special called Glazed and Confused. Close behind are the topped fries, especially the chilli cheese version, which reviewers describe as generous. Chicken tenders, garlic dough balls and a custard cream cheesecake special also earn praise, as does the Crunchy Cookie pie. The main trade-offs are space and cost. The place is small, seats around 30 and can get very busy, and one reviewer notes the burger is not the cheapest and suggests it could include a small portion of fries. Another dislikes ordering food by QR code after getting drinks at the bar, and mentions loud music in the bar setting. Even so, one diner who noticed higher prices found the portions and quality fair, and another reports that a wrongly ordered pizza was reordered and rushed out.

“what a fab little place!!! 🍔 our last night of holiday in the peak district, we found this restaurant online and decided to make the drive down here. after looking at the menu from reviews, it looks like the prices have gone up quite a bit!! that being said, once the food was brought out, i thought the pricing was absolutely fair for the portions and quality of the food. the chicken tenders were incredible, our portions of fries were ginormous, and the burgers were just to die for!! our server casey was so lovely too. we’d love to come back if we were back in the area”

“I walked in and luckily managed to get a table! (Not the biggest place so definitely recommend booking) I ordered the 'Pontiac Bandit' burger and the dough balls. The burger was amazing (2 beef patties, cheese, bacon, peanut butter, chilli jam). The meat was cooked perfectly. It was juicy and seasoned perfectly, and had a really lovely meaty taste. It was my first time having peanut butter in a burger but it actually went perfectly with the meat and everything else in the burger. (Was a great idea to put the peanut burger at the bottom, and the homemade chilli jam on the top) The bun held together well, and there was plenty of cheese and bacon. The dough balls (big portion!) were also amazing. They were all cooked perfectly, and sitting in plenty of garlic sauce and butter, and were lovely and soft and doughy inside. Service was also excellent. Very efficient and polite. It's not the cheapest burger (should maybe come with a small portion of fries for that price?) However, it was an amazing burger and I will definitely be back in future for another! UPDATE July 2025: Came again, had the same amazing burger! Also got a piece of the Crunchy Cookie pie to take away which we are later in the evening. Good size, great cookie dough, melty chocolate and drizzled with chocolate sauce. We enjoyed it very much!”

“Stopped here for early dinner, and I have to say the Scarface burger was absolutely incredible! The flavours complimented each other perfectly, the chilli fries too were brilliant! Would highly recommend the burgers, they are amazing. There's a great atmosphere, lovely setting, live music, dogs allowed, nice array of rums and craft beer. Would highly recommend this place!”

“First time we've ate at Bun and bones since it moved in at Dr Feelgood. A good bar to team up with as it shares their quirky nature and has some great beers including IPA's on draft from Tiny Rebel and Beavertown. We went on a Sunday night and was pleasantly surprised with how quiet it was. There's parking a couple mins walk away on a church which is paid depending on the time of day and then it's double yellow outside the venue as its facing the market hall in Stockport centre. You get drinks at the bar and then pick a table and order food via a QR code. I hate this method of ordering but some love it, seems the norm in Manchesters northern quater along with being cashless. There's no waiters / waitresses about other than who brings your food but you're unable to order drinks etc with them, probably due to the bar and food being separate businesses. The food was great really tasty burgers with an imaginative array of flavours and they really do have the best chilli cheese fries and are of good portion, it won't take long to get full! I'll definitely be visiting again.”
