Customer Review Summary

Friendly staff come up most often, with reviewers describing bar staff who make people feel welcome and drinks they call affordable. Food draws praise too. One diner describes a roast dinner with generous cuts of meat and no overcooked broccoli, plus a homemade raspberry cheesecake and the famous burger with chunky homemade chips. Children are described as really welcomed, and others call the bar seating comfortable and the pub nice for a drink. The criticism centres on a group booking for ten, where the lamb shank arrived with a small amount of mash and peas and no other vegetables, which that reviewer felt did not match the price. No dessert menu was offered, and the room felt cold without background music. Elsewhere, one visitor found the pub closed on a hot day, and one lunch customer gave a brief warning against eating there. In the group's case, one meal came out so late that most of the party had already finished eating.

“On the 11th June we had a party of ten , when booking it on the phone we weren't asked to pre order our food but arriving we were asked if we had .? The menu said ..lamb shank with mash potatoes and vegetables, this was ordered but upon arrival the dish only came with a small amount of mash potato and peas ...no other vegetables and for the price this was a meal that wasn't worth the price. Nine meals were brought out , one we were still waiting for for a long time , in fact most of us had finished by the time this meal was brought out . We weren't offered a desert menu, it was my daughters birthday so fortunately we had a cake . It would have been nice for the room to have been slightly warmer and probably some background music .”
